Firefighter Derek Baldwin is seriously Hayley Lawson now Hamilton’s only sort-of friend on Beyond the Gates, & that’s a stretch. At this point, Hayley needs anyone around her who will tolerate her & BTG fans need anyone around Derek who can make him even a little bit more interesting. For now, as it pertains to Hayley Hamilton, her entertainment value is provided by the nicknames she has acquired since marrying Bill Hamilton.
Jacob Says ‘Step Mother,’ Chelsea Says ‘Step Monster’
Next to Firefighter Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin), Naomi Hamilton’s (Arielle Prepetit) Police Officer husband Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) has been the nicest to Hayley Hamilton (Marquita Goings) since Beyond the Gates began in February 2025. There was one day that Jacob let his wife Naomi know that Hayley hit him up to attempt to put the breaks on Naomi’s lawsuit against Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) & referenced her as Naomi’s new stepmother. While that didn’t go over well with Naomi, it could have been far worse. Leave it to Naomi’s sister Chelsea Hamilton (Rhonni Rose Mantilla) to call her new stepmother ‘step-monster.’

Bill Hamilton’s ex-wife Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) has already coined Fayley-Hayley as a great nickname for Bill’s child bride Hayley. So far, since Hayley has been married to Dani Dupree’s ex-husband Bill Hamilton, she’s only been happy during their 3-day honeymoon, during extravagant dinners at home that have been delivered, & being tolerated at the diner.
Doesn’t Bill Hamilton’s child bride have a job? Well, supposedly, she does. She slept her way to being a paralegal, unlike the three qualified ladies Hayley’s ex-BFF Naomi is representing who did not rise to the occasion per Bill’s partner Creepy Mike’s request. Despite having a job, Hayley doesn’t do her job. Bill Hamilton has reassigned her to Unlimited Usage Director of one of his American Express cards. Too bad all she can do is shop & hang out at the diner. The country club isn’t having Fayley-Hayley/Step-Monster/Child-Bride or her funds even though they are Bill Hamilton’s funds via AmEx.
