Fairmont Crest’s resident schemer is about to meet her match. On Tuesday’s episode of Beyond the Gates, Joey Armstrong finally puts Leslie Thomas in her place, and honestly? It’s been a long time coming.

Leslie has been trying to sink her claws deeper into Joey ever since they partnered up on that clinic project. She wants him more involved, more committed, more under her thumb. But Joey didn’t become the casino king by letting manipulative women boss him around. Well, except for Vanessa, but that’s different. That’s love. Leslie is just annoying.

The thing about Joey Armstrong is that he’s no angel himself. This is the guy who’s been carrying on with Vanessa while her husband was barely cold, who has shady dealings with Marcel, and who generally operates in the moral gray zone. But at least he’s honest about being a baddie. Leslie Thomas pretends to be doing everything for noble reasonswhile plotting world domination one free clinic at a time.

Two Baddies Enter, One Walks Away Humbled

What makes this confrontation so entertaining is that neither of these people is a good person. Joey Armstrong has his own agenda, and Leslie Thomas definitely has hers. Watching them go head-to-head is like watching two chess masters try to out-maneuver each other, except one of them is about to flip the board.

Joey already had Bill draw up contractual protections for this partnership, complete with some sneaky changes that Bill found absolutely delightful. “This might be more fun than I thought,” Bill smirked, and when Bill Hamilton is amused, you know someone is about to get played.

Leslie has been riding high lately, worming her way into Fairmont Crest society and building alliances one Hawthorne at a time. She even got Eva involved in her clinic scheme. But Joey Armstrong isn’t some naive socialite she can manipulate. He sees through her, and Tuesday, he’s going to make sure she knows it.

Vanessa Drops a Bombshell

Meanwhile, Vanessa shocks Nicole with some scandalous information. Given that Nicole just found out she doesn’t have the BRCA gene while her sister Dani does, and given that Vanessa has been Fairmont Crest’s chief gossip lately, this tea could be about absolutely anything. Family secrets? Joey drama? Carlton gossip? With Vanessa, you never know what’s going to come out of her mouth.

Also on Tuesday, Chelsea’s new lease on life causes friction with Madison. These two have been on shaky ground ever since their Thanksgiving blowup, and apparently Chelsea’s positive attitude is rubbing Madison the wrong way. Some people just can’t handle other people’s happiness, Madison!
