BELLE AND SHAWN’S EMOTIONAL REUNION ROCKS SALEM AS EJ LOSES HIS GRIP

The moment we’ve ALL been waiting for might finally be here!

Just when EJ DiMera thought he had Belle Black all to himself, her father’s tragic death has sent her running straight back into the arms of her first love. And let me tell you, soap fans—the chemistry between Belle and Shawn Brady during John Black’s funeral has been absolutely ELECTRIC!

I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Grief Brings Shelle Back Together

Look, we all saw this coming from a mile away, didn’t we? On June 3rd, Belle made a choice that spoke volumes—she pushed EJ away faster than you can say “DiMera curse.” And honestly? Good for her! The timing couldn’t be more telling. Losing John has clearly made Belle realize what (and who) truly matters in her life.

During the funeral services (June 9-11), Shawn has been Belle’s rock. Despite their divorce just months ago in December 2024, he’s been right there by her side, offering the kind of comfort only someone who’s known you since high school can provide. The way he looked at her during the service? The gentle hand on her shoulder? The tissues he kept passing her?

Pure. Soap. Gold.

A Love Story Years in the Making

For those of you new to the Shelle saga (where have you been?!), let me give you the quick and dirty: These two are soap royalty. Children of supercouples—Belle being the daughter of John and Marlena Evans, Shawn the son of Bo and Hope Brady—they were destined for drama from day one. High school sweethearts turned spouses turned exes turned… whatever this is now.

They’ve been married. Divorced. Remarried. Re-divorced. They share daughter Claire Brady. They’ve survived everything from liver transplants to Jan Spears’ interference. If there’s a soap trope out there, Shelle has lived it!

And now? Now grief might be the thing that finally—FINALLY—brings them back together for good.

EJ Should Be Very, Very Worried

Speaking of EJ, can we talk about how spectacularly he’s about to lose this battle? The man never stood a chance. Belle’s family has NEVER approved of him (looking at you, Brady and Marlena), and now with John gone, she’s clearly reevaluating everything.

Here’s what’s killing me: Production leaks are already hinting at what’s to come! That 60th anniversary photo shoot video that Dan Feuerriegel (EJ) accidentally leaked? Belle wasn’t anywhere near EJ in those shots. But guess who she WAS standing next to…

I’ll wait.

What Happens Next?

The writers have been building to this since April when they promised more “romance and passion” in their storylines. And what’s more romantic than two people finding their way back to each other through shared grief? (I mean, besides finding your way back through amnesia or a fake death, but we’ve already done those storylines with these two!)

Will Shawn’s past with Jada complicate things? Maybe.

Will Belle need time to process her breakup with EJ? Probably.

Will any of that stop these two from eventually reuniting? Not a chance in soap hell!

My prediction? By late fall 2025—just in time for those anniversary episodes—Belle and Shawn will be giving things another shot. Because if there’s one thing death teaches us in Salem, it’s that life is too short not to be with the person who truly owns your heart.

And Shawn Brady has owned Belle Black’s heart since they were teenagers sneaking kisses in the hallways of Salem High.

EJ never had a prayer.
