Days Of Our Lives
DAYS Is Setting Up Chanel Dupree to Die From Cancer and the Foreshadowing Is EVERYWHERE
Days of Our Lives is foreshadowing Chanel Dupree DiMera’s death from cancer. Both actors have been fired and the medical clues are piling up.

THERE’S SOMETHING DEVASTATING FOR CHANEL AHEAD AND THE CLUES ARE ALL OVER THIS PREGNANCY ON DAYS
TL;DR: Thursday’s doctor appointment dropped a bombshell. A specialty doctor on DAYS confirmed they cannot detect whether Chanel Dupree’s cancer has returned until after she delivers. Both Raven Bowens and Carson Boatman have been fired, their exits line up with Chanel’s due date, and the foreshadowing has been building for weeks.
The Writers Are Setting Up Chanel Dupree to Die and the Evidence Is Everywhere
If you have been watching Chanel Dupree clutch her stomach for weeks and thought it was just pregnancy stress, the writers would like you to keep thinking that. Because what happened during Thursday’s doctor appointment was not routine reassurance. It was foreshadowing.
Chanel and Johnny DiMera went to their high-risk pregnancy specialist for a straightforward checkup. The appointment was essentially over when Johnny asked why they had always been told a pregnancy would be high risk even when Chanel was not pregnant. The doctor explained that they cannot determine whether Chanel’s cancer has returned until after the placenta is delivered because the tumor and the pregnancy produce the same hormones. The couple went from relieved to concerned after Chanel admitted she’s been cramping on a regular basis. The doctor went from reassuring them that all was well to ordering an immediate ultrasound. Cue the ominous overtones.

The Breadcrumbs Have Been There All Along
There have been at least four recent occasions where Chanel suddenly needed to sit down, grabbing her stomach like something is seriously wrong, only for the moment to pass. The show has trained us to dismiss these as pregnancy discomfort or stress from a myriad of issues, including the Sophia Choi situation. Sophia is threatening to manipulate Melinda Trask into finding a loophole in baby Trey’s adoption. Of course, Chanel and Johnny don’t know this yet, but he’s also been acting as the CEO at DiMera. That alone is stressful. But what if the cramps are symptoms of something the doctors just told us they can’t detect?
Chanel Dupree has a medical history that reads like a ticking time bomb. Her first pregnancy ended in a partial molar pregnancy after Paulina Price exposed her to radioactive iodine. Kayla confirmed the miscarriage was caused by the molar pregnancy, which carry an elevated risk of developing into gestational trophoblastic disease, a form of cancer. Chanel was monitored for months. She needed clearance before conceiving again, but she wasn’t exactly cleared. The couple learned another pregnancy would be high risk. They got pregnant anyway. Now, doctors are telling that if the cancer was back, they wouldn’t know it.
Both Actors Have Already Been Fired and the Timeline Is Damning
This is where the speculation becomes almost certain. Both Raven Bowens and Carson Boatman were let go in early 2026 as part of a wave of cast cuts. Because the show tapes nine to ten months ahead, their final episodes should air around October 2026. That timing lines up almost perfectly with when Chanel would be delivering this baby.
The writers have two paths for getting Johnny and Chanel off the canvas. The optimistic version is that Chanel delivers a healthy baby, Johnny lands a dream job in Hollywood working with his brother Will Horton, and the couple rides off into the sunset with little Trey and the newborn. Chanel can bake anywhere. That exit writes itself.
But the soapy version, the version that generates maximum heartbreak, is the one where Chanel’s cancer returns. Chanel Dupree delivers her baby, then the placenta. The doctors finally run tests and learn the cancer is back. Except it has metastasized. There’s nothing that can be done. And Chanel, who has been through so much, does not survive.
That exit would destroy Paulina. It would gut Johnny. It would leave him a single father of two children, and it would give Boatman an emotionally nuclear final arc. Johnny leaving Salem as a widower with a newborn and an adopted son is the kind of story that defines a show for years.
The writers did not put that cancer dialogue in Thursday’s episode by accident. They did not have a specialist explain that a tumor cannot be detected during pregnancy to fill airtime. They did not write scenes of Chanel grabbing her stomach to create ambient tension. Every moment was a brick in a wall being built toward something devastating.
Chanel is living on borrowed time. And the worst part is that nobody in Salem, including Chanel herself, will know until it is far too late.

WATCH THIS: Will Chanel get her miracle baby?
@soapoperamag Chanel's specialist said the baby is fine. Developing normally. But they can't detect any cancer recurrence until AFTER she delivers. And she's been having cramps. They ordered more tests "as a precaution." I don't trust any of this. #DAYS ♬ original sound – Soap Opera Magazine
