Dimitri first appeared on Days of Our Lives in 2021 under the false identity of Kyle Graham, an ISA agent. He worked with Billie Reed to track down jewels that made up the Alamainian Peacock, but it was all a scheme!
Viewers discovered he was actually Dimitri von Leuschner, cousin of Carly Manning and Frankie Brady. He was working with Drew Donovan to use the Alamainian Peacock to activate satellites and force countries to pay for protection! After his evil plan was thwarted, Dimitri was sent to prison. Supposedly.
Dimitri returned to the DAYS in May 2023 when he was holding Kate Roberts hostage. The BIGGEST reveal? Dimitri is the son of Megan Hathaway DiMera, making him Stefano DiMera’s grandson! He also had Andrew Donovan as a hostage, which gave him leverage to go free along with his mother Megan.
The Von Leuschner Inheritance Scheme
Once Dimitri was free, his mother Megan immediately put him to work on a scheme to secure his inheritance. He had to marry a woman before his 40th birthday!
Enter Gwen Rizczech! Megan pushed Dimitri toward Gwen, and he quickly wooed her into bed and proposed. Gwen’s best friend Leo Stark urged her not to rush into this, but after Megan was shot, Gwen decided to say yes to Dimitri’s proposal.
The plan was working perfectly until Dimitri’s true nature started showing. While married to Gwen, Dimitri began a clandestine affair with Leo Stark! Dimitri Was Trapped In A “Gilded Prison” For A YEAR
According to Peter Porte’s recent interviews, his character has been “trapped in a gilded prison for the last year.” Dimitri didn’t know what was happening in Salem during his captivity. He didn’t know that Leo received a fake breakup letter. He didn’t know Leo moved on and fell in love with Javi Hernandez. He didn’t know Leo and Javi got MARRIED!
All Dimitri knew during his year of captivity was that he needed to get back to Leo.
What Problems Will Dimitri Create Now That He’s Back?
Dimitri’s return to Salem creates MASSIVE problems for multiple people! First and foremost, Leo and Javi’s brand-new marriage is in immediate danger.
For Gwen Rizczech, Dimitri’s return means her schemes are about to be EXPOSED! If Dimitri figures out that Gwen forged that breakup letter to keep him away from Leo, he’s going to be FURIOUS.
For Leo specifically, Dimitri’s return forces him to confront feelings he thought he’d buried. According to spoilers, Dimitri “gets the upper hand on Gwen” by Friday, which suggests he wins whatever confrontation they have this week. Buckle up, Salem. It’s going to be quite a week!
