DAYS OF OUR LIVES SPOILERS: SOPHIA CHOI IS BACK AND HOLLY JONAS HAS NO IDEA

TL;DR: Days of Our Lives spoilers have Sophia Choi back in Salem on Friday, October 16, alive and hiding, while Holly Jonas still carries the blame for what everyone believed was Sophia’s suicide. Talk of Holly and Tate leaving for France is chatter, not a spoiler.

Sophia Comes Home on Friday

The Days of Our Lives spoilers for Friday, October 16 bring Sophia Choi back to Salem. She is no ghost. Kristen DiMera found her alive on October 9, waiting tables at a diner under the name Amelia, and on Monday the two made a deal that put Sophia on the road home. The person with the most riding on that face has no idea it is coming: Holly Jonas.

Think about what Holly has lived with since May. As our daily recaps showed, the note Sophia left behind blamed Holly, and her mother, Amy, pushed for manslaughter charges that went nowhere. Then Mason Whitfield arrived in September, blaming Holly for what he believed was Sophia’s suicide. All the while, Holly and Tate Black have been living on borrowed time, with exits that were announced back in January.

Sophia is not coming back empty handed. On Monday she demanded the money Kristen promised and made it plain that if she talks, Kristen goes down with her. Kristen struck her with a rock on May 1 and had her thrown in the river, so every pair of eyes on Sophia puts the deal at risk. Friday’s spoiler slate also has Kristen sneaking in to see her daughter, Rachel.

Should Sophia go straight to Holly, or keep hiding? Write to our editor at amber@soapoperamagazine.com and tell us what you think.

The Ghost Holly Thought She Saw

The ghost talk has history. On September 30, Holly thought she spotted Sophia, and it turned out to be a stranger. Tate told her flatly, “Sophia’s gone.” Then there is the anonymous text Holly got on September 10: “Are you having fun?” Mason denied sending it, and the sender is still a mystery.

Circulating spoiler chatter says Holly comes face to face with Sophia the week of October 19 and Tate gets a shock of his own. That week’s previews are not out yet, so treat it as a forecast, not a spoiler. Rachel Boyd, who plays Sophia, has said this version is not mainly out for revenge on Holly or out to win Tate back. Her warning since the amnesia rumor unraveled is simpler: “as long as Sophia’s alive, chaos will follow!”

Are Holly and Tate Leaving Days of Our Lives for France?

Nobody official has said so. The France talk is chatter that hedges every word, and no published preview puts Holly or Tate on a plane. It is not a wild guess, though. Holly’s mother, Nicole Walker, left Salem for Paris in 2024. Last October Holly nearly boarded a flight to Paris herself, until Tate caught her at the last minute, told her he loved her and talked her into staying.

Here is the twist. Paris was Sophia’s escape plan first. On May 1 she asked Kristen for money to fake her own suicide and skip town for Paris, and Kristen answered with a rock. If Holly Jonas and Tate do end up in France, they would be taking the trip Sophia never got to take.

The Exit Clock for Holly and Tate

The facts are thinner than the gossip. In January the show let go of the actors who play Holly, Tate, Johnny and Chanel. Ashley Puzemis posted in February that it was “officially a wrap on Holly Jonas!” after 222 episodes, and Leo Howard has wrapped too and joined the final season of Yellowjackets. No last air date has been announced for either.

Here is my own math, and it is only math. The show tapes roughly ten months ahead, and Puzemis had wrapped by mid-February. If that lag holds, the earliest goodbye lands around mid-November, with December or the turn of the year just as likely. The window reported in January was late 2026 or early 2027.

What Sophia’s Return Means for Holly, Tate, Mason and Kristen

For Holly, everything changes the moment she sees that face. Six months of guilt rested on a suicide that never happened, and my gut tells me she will not keep quiet about it.

Mason may owe Holly a second, bigger apology. Sophia leaned on the hotline where he volunteers, and he blamed Holly when he thought she was gone. On Monday he said he was sorry and offered to mentor Holly there, and Thursday they bond. If I know these writers, Tate, who told Holly that Sophia was gone, finds out he was wrong at the worst possible moment.

Kristen has the most to lose, because a living Sophia is a witness. Stacy Haiduk said in March she expected to air until about November before Kristen takes a break, which leaves very little time to keep this buried.

Is Holly finally about to be cleared, or is Sophia back to make things worse? Tell us in the comments.

Sophia’s Return Should Clear Holly, Not Chase Her Out of Salem

Our take: Holly Jonas has carried this for six months, and she deserves the truth from Sophia herself before she goes anywhere, Paris included. The girl Salem blamed should get her name back first.

Then let her leave on her own terms, with Tate beside her. Do you want Holly cleared before she goes, or is France the happy ending she has earned? Pick a side and argue it out with us on our Facebook page.
