DAYS OF OUR LIVES SPOILERS: RACHEL BLACK WANTS HER MOTHER, AND KRISTEN IS NOWHERE NEAR HER BEDSIDE

TL;DR: On Days of Our Lives the week of October 5, 2026, Rachel Black ends up in a hospital bed in pain. Brady promises Sarah will take care of her, but Rachel cries out for her mom, Kristen, who finds Sophia alive on Friday.

Rachel Lands in a Hospital Bed, and Only Her Mom Will Do

The latest Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of October 5, 2026 put Rachel Black in a hospital bed. The show’s own preview for the week shows her in pain while her father, Brady Black, tries to comfort her. He assures her, “Sarah’s going to take really good care of you,” meaning Sarah Horton. Rachel wants none of it. “No, I want mom,” she cries out.

Her mom is Kristen DiMera, and Kristen has been gone since August. The preview doesn’t say what is wrong with Rachel, and it doesn’t pin the scene to a day. The week’s grid does say that on Tuesday, October 6, Rachel gives Brady cause for concern, and that on Wednesday, Brady is forced to make a difficult call. Whether either line is the hospital scene, the spoilers don’t say.

Should Brady track Kristen down for Rachel’s sake? Tell Amber Sinclair at amber@soapoperamagazine.com and we may share your answer.

Nobody Has Named What Is Wrong With Rachel

Here is what we actually know, and it is less than the scary headlines out there suggest. Brady gets Rachel to the hospital, she is in real pain, and she ends up in a bed. One preview says stomach pains and reads them as a sign that her emotional troubles are back. Another floats appendicitis, purely as a guess. The show has not given a diagnosis, so neither will we.

My gut says the pain is real and the deeper hurt is the empty chair beside her bed. Think about the year this kid has had. She spent months at Bayview, she was told in June that Sophia was dead, and then her mother vanished. That is a lot for any child to carry, and Rachel Black has been carrying it without Kristen.

Where Is Kristen DiMera on Days of Our Lives?

Kristen said goodbye to Rachel on August 6 in disguise, as Aunt Susan, because she had to disappear and stay out of EJ DiMera‘s reach. Rachel got a big hug from “Susan” without ever knowing it really came from her mother. In September, a bracelet from Kristen arrived for her. That has been about all Rachel has had of her since.

Here is the detail that makes this week so loaded. Before Kristen vanished, she handed Brady a way to get a message to her if there was ever an emergency with Rachel. Now Rachel is in a hospital bed crying for her mom. Some of the fan chatter already has Brady using that lifeline, and with a difficult call sitting on Wednesday’s grid, I would not bet against it. Nothing in the previews confirms he does, though.

Kristen Has Her Hands Full in Kentucky

Meanwhile, Kristen turns up on Friday, October 9, at a diner in Kentucky, where she finds Sophia Choi alive and waiting tables. On screen, Sophia Choi is still presumed dead, so this one is going to land with a jolt. Kristen has every reason to sweat. She is the one who struck Sophia in May and staged it to look like a suicide.

So picture the timing. Rachel Black is crying for her mother from a hospital bed in the very week Kristen comes face to face with the young woman she left for dead. Nothing in the previews ties the two stories together yet. If I know these writers, though, a hurting daughter and a living secret make an awfully strong pull toward home, so don’t be surprised if Kristen starts thinking about Salem again.

Sarah Is the Wrong Face at This Bedside

Spare a thought for Sarah. She is Brady’s girlfriend and a doctor, so of course he reaches for her, and Rachel turns her down flat. That sting has history. Last November, Rachel slipped Sarah pistachio ice cream, Sarah had an allergic reaction, and Brady had to rush her to the hospital.

Sarah already fears for her own career, and now she gets a front-row seat to a child who only wants her mother. Rachel Black is not trying to be cruel this time. She is a scared kid who wants her mom, and that is exactly why it will sting.

Should Kristen come home for Rachel, even with Sophia’s secret trailing behind her? Tell us in the comments.

Rachel Needs Her Mother, and Brady Should Make That Call

Brady can promise all the good care in the world, and he means every word. But a scared kid in a hospital bed is not asking for the best doctor in Salem. She is asking for her mother, and Brady is the one person holding a way to reach her.

So here is our pick. Team Call Kristen says Rachel comes first, danger or not, while Team Keep Her Away says Kristen vanished for a reason, and dragging her back could put everyone at risk. We are Team Call Kristen. Which side are you on? Come make your case on our Facebook page.
