DAYS OF OUR LIVES RECAP: KRISTEN DIMERA GETS PAST BRADY TO RACHEL’S HOSPITAL BED

Days of Our Lives Recap: Kristen DiMera Sneaks In to See Rachel Black

The Days of Our Lives recap October 16, 2026 puts a mother at a hospital bed she was told to stay away from. Kristen DiMera slipped into the room of her daughter, Rachel Black, in disguise, and by the time anyone noticed, she was already sitting beside her.

Sarah Horton caught her there. Then Rachel woke up and saw her mother, and getting Kristen out of that room suddenly got a lot harder.

Rachel has been asking for Kristen for ten days. “I want mom,” she told Brady on October 6, the day the stomach pains started, and she landed in the hospital the next day. Kristen has been gone since August, when she said goodbye to Rachel in disguise and left Brady a way to reach her in an emergency.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Brady Black Tries to Keep Kristen Away

Brady Black saw this coming and still could not stop it. He told Sarah what he had learned about Kristen pressuring Sophia to go after Johnny, and he asked her to alert hospital security and keep Kristen away from Rachel.

He already believed Kristen was behind the attempt on Johnny’s life. He said so on Monday, standing over a sleeping Rachel and deciding that having Kristen in their lives was a bad idea. Friday, Kristen walked right past that plan.

Did Kristen DiMera See Rachel on Days of Our Lives?

She did, and Rachel saw her too. That is the scene fans have been waiting on since the hospital story started, and it landed on a Friday. How Sarah handles it, and what Brady does when he hears, has not aired yet. Our Days of Our Lives spoilers will pick it up as the new week’s previews land.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Sophia Choi Is Afraid to Come Back to Life

Kristen did not come back alone. Sophia Choi made the trip with her, and Kristen spent much of the day trying to convince her that her mother deserved to know she was alive. Her mother, Kristen reminded her, believes her daughter took her own life.

Sophia pushed back hard. Coming forward, she argued, could send both of them to prison. Still, she got emotional listening to Kristen describe what it meant to see Rachel again and hear her laugh. Sophia said she wishes she could make things right and ease her family’s pain. She is just as afraid of where that leads.

This is the same pair who made a deal outside a Kentucky diner four days ago. Sophia remembered almost everything about the night she disappeared, except Kristen hitting her, and told Kristen to pay the money she promised or she would tell everyone. Catch up on that in our recap of Sophia shaking down Kristen.

Sophia Choi Sees Johnny DiMera With Trey

Then came the quietest scene of the day and maybe the hardest. Sophia watched Johnny DiMera with Trey from a distance, and she could not say a word.

Trey is the son Sophia gave birth to in July 2025, and Johnny and Chanel adopted him that November. The last time Sophia and Johnny shared a scene, she set fire to his apartment with him inside. Now she is back in Salem, a woman everyone believes is dead, looking at the life she gave away.

Jada Hunter Offers Lani Price Her Old Job Back

Two days after learning her pardon had come through, Lani Price got an offer. Jada Hunter offered Lani her old job back. Whether she says yes is the next question.

It has been a long road back. The governor had refused to pardon her, and it took Paulina’s public push to change that. Paulina called on Wednesday with the news that the pardon was coming through after all. Now the badge is on the table, and Lani has to decide whether she wants to wear it again.

Kristen DiMera Just Made Brady’s Choice Much Harder

Brady had a clean plan: security at the door and Kristen nowhere near his daughter. It lasted one episode. Our bet is that Rachel waking up to her mother changes the fight for good, because nobody in Salem wants to be the one who pulls Kristen away from that bed while Rachel watches. And Sophia is still out there in Salem, one bad moment from being seen.
