EJ DiMera had the same photograph an hour earlier and took it straight to Rita Lesley, who worked in Stefano’s office for decades. He pressed her on the picture and on how little she had found before the mansion sale closed. She gave him nothing he could use and insisted she had told him the truth.

Dr. Rolf came up and went nowhere, since nobody can reach the man. Then Rita handed EJ the FDA complaint and he was out the door furious. She waited until it shut behind him. “It’s playing out as you planned, sir,” she told Stefano’s portrait, and there was nobody left in the room to perform for.

She said his surname and the DiMera name mean the same thing, within an hour of Rita telling EJ she could not imagine any connection. Marlena did not know the boy or the name. She got there anyway.

Chad DiMera came home and went straight at Cat Greene about the ISA, and got the longest version she has given anybody. She had already cut ties with the agency when Clyde Weston came for her. Clyde killed her father. She stayed quiet because she could not trust that her mother would be safe if she asked the agency for help.

Chad did not move an inch. He told her she had a choice and chose wrong, then called her deluded for believing EJ would ever be straight with her. Belle had that same account checked on Thursday and it held up, which has not shifted him a hair.

Sydney DiMera Came Home and Went Straight to the Brady Pub

Sydney DiMera landed in Salem and found Roman Brady at the pub. Her grandfather got the full download. Her mother seems happy, and Sydney says she likes working for Dante Vitali, the man her mother is engaged to.

That last part is doing more work than it looks. On Thursday EJ praised her career as a lawyer, and nothing on screen says those two facts are the same job. She is a lawyer. She works for Dante. The show left the space between them empty on purpose.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Holly Jonas Has Decided Who Is Texting Her

Holly Jonas showed Arianna Horton the message that reached her phone on September 10 and called it a threat. Ari could not see it. What Ari had was worse. She had already asked Mason Whitfield what his problem with Holly was, and Mason said Holly is responsible for the death of someone he knew.

Holly put a name to it herself, out loud, with nothing behind it and nobody there to confirm it. Mason had been at that same pub half an hour earlier, sitting with Marlena and talking about a caller who put him in mind of the friend who saved his life in Afghanistan. He has still never said who he blames Holly for, and my gut tells me he says it to the wrong person first.
