Now he’s working with Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson) on a “mysterious experiment” involving Versavix, the drug that saved Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) from sepsis by regenerating his brain tissue. EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) personally recruited Rolf and Mark to work in the secret lab at the new Dr. Tom Horton Free Clinic, and EJ told Mark that Versavix has uses “among other things.” AMONG OTHER THINGS. The Stefano DiMera Resurrection Theory Is TOO Perfect To Ignore
Here’s where things get INSANE: rumors are swirling that Rolf’s experiment is designed to bring back STEFANO DIMERA. Not just metaphorically—LITERALLY bringing The Phoenix back from the dead. Again. Because apparently, dying multiple times isn’t enough for this man.
According to Days of Our Lives updates, there are two possible scenarios: Option One is that Rolf somehow preserved Stefano’s body or brain and is working to fully resurrect him using Versavix’s brain-regenerating properties. What Exactly IS Versavix And Why Is It So Dangerous?
Let’s talk about Versavix for a second. This drug literally saved Bo Brady’s life by regenerating his dying brain tissue. It’s a MIRACLE drug that can repair neurological damage and bring people back from the brink of death. Sounds great, right? WRONG. Because in Dr. Rolf’s hands, Versavix becomes a tool for playing God.
If Versavix can regenerate brain tissue, what else can it do? Can it restore memories? Can it reanimate dead tissue? Can it create a brand-new consciousness inside an existing body? These are the questions EJ and Rolf are probably exploring in that secret lab, and the answers are TERRIFYING.
EJ told Mark they need to “get around the red tape” involved in testing the drug. Translation: they’re doing ILLEGAL experiments that would never be approved by legitimate medical authorities. EJ’s funding the entire operation personally, which means he has a vested interest in whatever horror show they’re creating.
Who ELSE Could Dr. Rolf Be Resurrecting Besides Stefano?
Okay, let’s go FULL conspiracy theory mode and speculate about who ELSE Rolf might be bringing back from the dead:
Theory One: ANDRE DIMERA. Tony just reappeared after being missing, but what if it’s actually Andre? Thaao Penghlis plays both characters, and Days of Our Lives LOVES confusing everyone with twin switcheroos. Andre was murdered in 2018, but Rolf could have preserved his body or brain for this exact purpose.
Theory Two: VIVIAN ALAMAIN. This woman has “died” and come back SO many times that one more resurrection wouldn’t even be surprising. Plus, Vivian’s connection to the DiMeras makes her a prime candidate for Rolf’s experiments.
Theory Three: SOMEONE CONNECTED TO MARLENA’S ILLNESS. Sarah Kiriakis (Linsey Godfrey) is making a “breakthrough” about Marlena Evans’s (Deidre Hall) mysterious medical condition. What if Marlena’s illness is connected to Rolf’s experiments? What if he tested Versavix on her without her knowledge?
Theory Four: BO BRADY. Bo was saved by Versavix once before. What if Rolf’s perfecting the formula using Bo’s medical history? What if Bo’s coming back AGAIN but with Stefano’s memories implanted? That would be the most INSANE plot twist possible.
Mark Greene Is In WAY Over His Head With This Situation
Let’s spare a moment of sympathy for Mark Greene. This poor guy just got out of prison for helping Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) and Clyde Weston with their schemes. He’s trying to rebuild his life, take care of his siblings Aaron (Louis Tomeo) and Felicity, and stay OUT of trouble.
And then EJ DiMera shows up offering him a job in a state-of-the-art lab with great pay. Sounds perfect, right? WRONG. Because the supervisor is DR. ROLF, the mad scientist who’s committed more crimes against nature than anyone in Salem history.
Mark’s going to realize he’s in over his head when the experiments start getting DARK. When bodies start showing up. When people who were dead start walking around Salem with new personalities. Mark’s going to regret ever accepting EJ’s job offer, but by then, it’ll be too late to back out.
The Bottom Line: Someone’s Getting Resurrected And It’s Going To Be CHAOS
When Dr. Rolf starts experimenting with miracle drugs that regenerate brain tissue, someone’s ALWAYS coming back from the dead. Whether it’s Stefano DiMera, Andre DiMera, or someone else entirely, Salem is about to experience another resurrection—and it’s going to be MESSY.
