The Week Ahead in Salem

Salem is barreling into the reading of Stefano’s will and the road to that lawyer’s office is paved with consequences. Sophia is going to find out what happens to a teenage girl who tried to murder her ex. Amy Choi is going to get the kind of phone call no mother survives without changing. EJ DiMera and Kristen will spend four days swinging at each other before Friday delivers the largest detonation device in DiMera history. Marlena will counsel her grandson. Theo will wrestle with the mother who came back from the dead. And Leo will make a phone call that could mean everything or nothing depending on whether Javi picks up.

This is a packed week and the will reading is the cliff at the end of it.

The aftermath of the explosion will land hard. Chanel DuPree will comfort Johnny on Monday in the kind of scene that confirms both of them survived the fire. Jada Hunter will reveal what happened to Sophia, and the answer will not be the one Salem expected. Cat Greene will update Rafe Hernandez on the medical mystery she has been quietly working. Leo Stark will reach out to Javi in a way that suggests he is not done fighting for him. And Cat Greene will update Rafe Hernandez on the DiMera medical mystery she has been chasing in the shadows.

Tuesday, May 5

Jada will give Amy Choi troubling news, and the kind of quiet ferocity that comes out of a grieving parent is the kind that breaks soap operas open. Tate, Arianna, and Holly will process their complicated feelings about Sophia. Philip Kiriakis will try to give Gabi DiMera advice she did not ask for. Stephanie Johnson will finally open up to Julie about the Alex of it all. And Alex will ask Joy to stay in Salem in a moment that is either romantic or strategic depending on which Kiriakis is telling the story.

Wednesday, May 6

Marlena Evans will counsel Johnny through the worst week of his life. Roman will tell Kate to keep her distance, which Kate has historically responded to by getting closer. Theo Carver will be conflicted over his mother’s return, because watching Lexie Carver come back from a coma is not the simple homecoming anyone expected. EJ will warn Kristen, which historically means Kristen will do the opposite. And Cat and Chad will try to keep things casual, which is the universal soap signal for nothing being casual.

Thursday, May 7

Gabi and Arianna will clash. Alex and Justin will bond over fatherhood in a scene being set up to hurt later. Stephanie will vent to Jada about Alex and Joy’s baby, opening that floodgate for good. Roman will press Kate for the truth and Kate is running out of corners. And Johnny will comfort Chanel in a callback scene that closes the loop on the explosion he survived.

Friday, May 8

EJ DiMera will prepare for the reading of Stefano’s will and the DiMera mansion will brace for impact. Kristen and Marlena will have a run in over Rachel that reopens every wound the courtroom left behind. Leo will offer to cover for Cat. Gabi will make a bold claim. And Chad will reassure Theo as the family braces for what Stefano left on paper.
