He lost his mother Abigail, he’s been manipulated by his grief into believing his father doesn’t care about him, and now he’s about to learn that Chad didn’t miss Thanksgiving or the custody hearing because he wanted to—he missed them because he’s being held CAPTIVE! Of course, Jennifer doesn’t know this. She doesn’t know WHERE Chad is. She simply knows where he’s NOT.
Jennifer has been fighting for emergency custody of Thomas and Charlotte, claiming Chad abandoned his children. But the reality is that Chad is literally fighting for his LIFE underground while Jennifer has been using his victimization against him in court! Theo is just starting his life! He has so many goals and dreams that he hasn’t accomplished yet. The idea of dying in this crypt before he’s had a chance to really LIVE is devastating to him!
Chad, on the other hand, can’t stop thinking about Thomas and Charlotte. His kids think he abandoned them, and Chad is TORTURED by the thought that he might die without ever seeing them again or getting the chance to explain that he never wanted to leave them!
This is the kind of conversation nobody ever wants to have, but when you’re locked in a crypt with no clear path to escape and more family members keep getting thrown in with you, you START thinking about these things!
