TL;DR: DAYS spoilers May 18-22 hit Salem with a one-two punch. The Choi family is in mourning, Kristen DiMera is shopping for a brand new partner in crime, and Lexie Carver is out of the pod and ready to confront Paulina Price face-to-face. Buckle in. This week is going to wreck several marriages and at least one career.

The Week’s Biggest Bombshell: A Choi Daughter Is Gone

Salem will mourn one of its own this week on Days of Our Lives. By Wednesday, May 20, Amy Choi will be grieving her daughter Sophia, and anyone who watched Kristen DiMera spend the last several weeks threatening her teenage accomplice into silence knows exactly what kind of tragedy we are dealing with. Sophia figured out who actually pulled the trigger on EJ DiMera. She told Kristen she knew. Kristen DiMera does not part with her loose ends gently.

That is the story this week is built around. Every other beat in Salem bends toward it.

Monday, May 18

Kristen DiMera does not waste a day. With Sophia presumably no longer in the picture, she turns to Xander Cook Kiriakis with a proposal. To get rid of EJ. Xander is no stranger to a Kristen scheme and he has a well documented soft spot for cash, which makes him exactly the kind of replacement teenage Sophia could never have been. Meanwhile, Stephanie Johnson admits a painful truth to her husband Alex Kiriakis. Gwen Rizczech vents to Leo Stark about EJ trying to cut her out of the Dimitri resurrection money. Brady Black goes out of his way for Sarah Horton over something that almost certainly has Xander’s name attached to it. And Chanel Dupree downplays her biopsy results to Paulina Price, because of course she does.

Tuesday, May 19

Abe Carver thanks EJ for something that will almost certainly come back to bite him by Friday. Then Lexie Carver demands a meeting with Paulina, because the original Mrs. Carver is feeling herself and she has waited long enough to confront the woman currently wearing her wedding ring. Theo Carver opens up to Gabi DiMera about the mother he thought was dead and the family he is watching split in half. Philip Kiriakis checks in on Joy. And Alex and Stephanie steal a romantic moment that means very little in the shadow of whatever Stephanie told him 24 hours earlier.

Wednesday, May 20

The center of the week. Amy is in mourning. The Choi family is broken open. Salem starts whispering about how a teenage girl who knew too much could have died so conveniently, and Kristen DiMera’s fingerprints are all over the timing. Elsewhere, Gabi makes Liam Selejko an offer that smells like a trap with a bow on it. Holly Jonas and Arianna Horton grapple with feelings nobody in this town has bothered to help them process. Cat Greene hits EJ with pointed questions, because her ISA operation is closing in on him faster than he realizes. If Cat lines up the right answers this week, EJ is one bad conversation away from losing the resurrection empire he has spent months building. And after months of unfinished business, Belle Black and Chad DiMera finally sit down for their long awaited dinner date.

Thursday, May 21

Leann Hunley and Thaao Penghlis are back in Salem this week as Anna DiMera gets fed up with Tony DiMera. Philip drops a truth on Gabi that could blow up her shiny new offer to Liam. Xander makes a suggestion to Gwen that may or may not have everything to do with the proposal he received from Kristen on Monday. Theo urges Abe to stop pretending he does not have to choose between the wife he buried and the wife he married after. And Paulina makes the trip to visit Lexie. We will not get a punch thrown. We will get something colder.

Friday, May 22

Matthew Ashford is back in Salem as Jack Deveraux reaches out to his daughter Gwen. Whether she lets him through the door is a separate question entirely. Gabi confesses. To what? Salem will find out by sundown. Xander surprises Sarah, in a way that is either heartwarming or alarming and there is no way to tell from here. Stephanie checks on Alex after a week of telling each other truths and pretending those truths do not exist. And Kayla Johnson and Steve Johnson reminisce, because at least somebody in this town gets to be happy for five minutes.

Strap in. Salem is going to feel every minute of this one.
