Salem Police Department thinks Kristen DiMera escaped prison when she was kidnapped like four other DiMeras, proving their legendary incompetence continues.
FIVE DIMERAS ARE MISSING, FOUR ARE BEING SEARCHED FOR & THE SALEM PD COULDN’T INVESTIGATE THEIR WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG
TL;DR: The Salem Police Department thinks Kristen DiMera escaped from Statesville Prison when she was actually kidnapped and is trapped in the DiMera family crypt with Tony, Chad, Theo, and EJ—all of whom are being actively searched for as VICTIMS. But because Kristen has escaped before, Salem’s finest couldn’t be bothered to investigate whether this time might be DIFFERENT!
Let’s Review What The Salem PD Are Too Lazy To Notice
Here’s what we KNOW is happening: Tony DiMera vanished from overseas. Chad DiMera disappeared. Theo Carver was kidnapped during his date with Jada. EJ DiMera just vanished. All four are being ACTIVELY searched for!
And then there’s Kristen DiMera, who disappeared from STATESVILLE PRISON and is trapped in the exact same crypt with the exact same people, but the Salem PD has decided she’s an “escapee”! When four DiMeras go missing under mysterious circumstances as VICTIMS, but the FIFTH DiMera disappears from a LOCKED PRISON, somehow the logical conclusion is that she planned it herself!
Let’s be very clear: Kristen was BONKED ON THE HEAD, blindfolded, and woke up in the crypt with Tony! That’s not an escape—that’s a KIDNAPPING!
Reddit users are having a FIELD DAY mocking the Salem Police Department, and they’re not wrong! When FIVE members of the same family disappear within days and four are victims but one is labeled a fugitive, maybe one should investigate whether there’s a PATTERN!

Even Jada Hasn’t Connected The Dots
Here’s what makes this even MORE ridiculous: Jada Hunter is literally dating Theo Carver when he gets kidnapped! She KNOWS he was taken against his will! And she knows everyone else is missing!
And yet somehow Jada—who is supposedly one of Salem’s more competent investigators—hasn’t looked at the Kristen situation and thought “Hey, maybe the woman who disappeared from a locked prison cell around the same time FOUR of her family members were kidnapped might ALSO be a victim?”
Yes, Kristen Has Escaped Prison Before But Once Shouldn’t Automatically Morph Into Twice
We’re not saying Kristen DiMera is some innocent angel who would NEVER break out of prison! This woman has more escape attempts on her resume than most people have job applications!
Kristen’s history includes getting pardoned when Orpheus blackmailed the governor, convincing Susan Banks to switch places with her so she could spy on Brady, having Dimitri Von Leuschner broker immunity deals, breaking out to threaten Chloe Lane with a gun before Tony and Chad convinced her to surrender AND escaping Meghan Hathaway via NUMEROUS wacky schemes!
So YES, Kristen has the means, motive, and track record to escape from Statesville! But that’s EXACTLY why a competent police force should investigate MORE thoroughly when she disappears!
But no! The Salem PD was apparently asleep at the wheel and said “Eh, it’s Kristen, she probably escaped” and closed the case!
The Writers Aren’t Even TRYING To Make The Salem PD Look Competent Anymore
At this point, the Days of Our Lives writers have completely given up on making the Salem Police Department look even remotely capable! This isn’t just standard soap opera police incompetence—this is advanced, Olympic-level stupidity!
Think about what the writers are asking us to accept: Four DiMeras disappear and are immediately treated as kidnapping victims requiring urgent investigation. The fifth DiMera disappears from a MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON and everyone just shrugs and says “Yeah, she probably walked out”!
Kristen was literally knocked unconscious and kidnapped, but because she’s done bad things before, Salem’s finest couldn’t be bothered to do their jobs! They didn’t investigate at all!
Eventually Someone Will Figure Out Kristen Was Kidnapped & It’ll Be TOO LATE
You KNOW what’s going to happen, right? Eventually someone—probably Brady or Rafe—is going to realize “Hey, five DiMeras disappeared around the same time, maybe we should check if Kristen was actually kidnapped instead of assuming she escaped!” Duh! And by then, the DiMera family will have been trapped in that crypt for WEEKS!
When the truth finally comes out that Kristen was a victim this whole time, will anyone apologize? Will Jada feel bad that she didn’t connect the obvious dots? Will Rafe question why his department didn’t investigate Kristen’s disappearance more thoroughly? Or will everyone just move on to the next crisis?
Our prediction: Nobody will address the institutional incompetence! And the next time a DiMera goes missing, they’ll STILL assume it’s voluntary because apparently pattern recognition isn’t taught at the Salem Police Academy!
