DAYS SHOCKER! Are There More Peeps in the Pod? What If Lexie Carver Isn’t the Only Person Dr. Rolf is Resurrecting?

TL;DR: EJ revealed Lexie Carver is alive on Friday’s Days of Our Lives, but if Dr. Wilhelm Rolf perfected his resurrection science on rats first, why would anyone think he’d stop at one human test subject. Stefan, Jake, Li Shin, Peter Blake, and even Abigail Deveraux all have direct connections to Rolf and could plausibly be inside that pod right now. Just waiting to make another entrance.

What If Lexie Carver Is Not the Only Person in Dr. Rolf’s Lab?

When EJ DiMera shocked Paulina by revealing that Lexie Carver has been alive inside a pod at the hospital, many viewers may have asked the same question. If Dr. Wilhelm Rolf perfected a resurrection process using test subjects in that lab – turning one expired rat into many rats, all of whom were very much alive and squeaking – why would he stop at just one human?

This is Dr. Wilhelm Rolf we’re talking about. The man who has been cheating death for the DiMera family for decades. He preserved Stefan’s body after his death and later revived him with his twin brother Jake’s heart. He has brainwashed people, erased memories, and built secret labs underneath hospitals. The idea that he would run successful trials on rats, perfect the science, and then risk everything on a single human test subject makes no sense. Dr. Wilhelm Rolf doesn’t work that way.

The Lab Has Room for More Than One Pod

Here is where the speculation gets interesting. There are at least five characters from Salem’s history who could plausibly be waiting inside a tube – or tubes – right now, and every single one of them has a direct connection to Rolf, to EJ, or to both.

Stefan DiMera is the most obvious candidate. Brandon Barash was fired mid-contract and Stefan’s exit was tied to Vivian Alamain‘s schemes. His signature on divorce papers is almost certain to be a forgery. Rolf has already preserved and revived Stefan once before. If Vivian faked Stefan’s departure and Rolf stashed him in the lab, that would explain why EJ keeps referencing receiving communication from Stefan after he supposedly left town. And if Stefan is in a pod, what about his twin brother Jake DiMera? Jake was fatally shot in 2022 and his heart was donated to revive Stefan. But this is Salem, and Rolf was working at that hospital. If Rolf could preserve Stefan’s body for months after death, he could have preserved Jake’s body too. And the DiMera inheritance alone would become an absolute war zone.

Then there is Li Shin. Stabbed in the back in November 2023, Li died at Salem University Hospital, the very hospital where Rolf has been running his secret lab. Li’s killer was eventually revealed to be Connie, but actor Remington Hoffman was spotted at the show’s 15,000th episode celebration and teased fans with the cryptic reminder that you never know in Salem. If Rolf collected Li’s body from the hospital morgue, nobody would have questioned it. And a resurrected Li would blow up Gabi’s entire world all over again.

Peter Blake Is the Most Suspicious Case of All

Peter Blake might be the most compelling argument that Rolf is stockpiling bodies. Peter returned to Salem in December 2025 and tried to kill the entire DiMera family with sarin gas in the crypt. Kristen knocked him out, he was impaled on a bone, and he ended up on life support at the hospital. Kristen made the agonizing decision to take him off life support, but Peter started to wake up. And then Dr. Wilhelm Rolf snuck into his room and injected him with a mysterious substance that flatlined him immediately. Kayla pronounced Peter dead on January 8.

Rolf appeared in that room within minutes of Peter regaining consciousness. Why would Rolf kill a man who was already waking up unless the injection was not designed to kill him at all? What if Rolf injected Peter with something that mimicked death so he could collect the body and add another subject to his resurrection lab? Rolf has done this before. This is his specialty.

And finally there is Abigail Deveraux. Chad DiMera‘s beloved murdered wife. Chad just left Salem on February 17 after visiting Abigail’s grave and taking the kids to Arizona. Conner Floyd takes over as the new Chad on April 21 when the character returns. If Chad comes back to Salem and discovers that Abigail has been alive in a pod this entire time? THAT’S the kind of story that justifies an entire recast. It gives the new Chad an immediate, emotionally nuclear storyline from the jump. With a resurrected wife to boot!

Dr. Wilhelm Rolf has the means, the motive, and the track record to be running a full resurrection operation underneath Salem University Hospital. Lexie Carver is the one we know about. But if that lab has taught us anything, it’s that where there is one pod, there may more. Two peeps in a pod? We think not. Salem will never be the same.
