MARLENA EVANS NOW HOLDS THE SECRET THAT ENDS CAT GREENE IN SALEM

TL;DR: EJ DiMera asked Cat Greene to sit down with Marlena Evans and let her go to work, and Cat said yes, and Days of Our Lives has officially handed us the most deliciously dangerous scenario of the year. Something is going to slip. And when it does, the woman holding the secret will have to decide what she does with it.

The Hypnosis Chair Already Had One DiMera in It

Marlena Evans has spent her entire career in Salem sitting across from people with things to hide and finding a way to the truth anyway. She is the most trusted therapist in the building, which is exactly why EJ DiMera came to her. He has been having flashbacks, all of them involving Cat Greene, all of them tied to the clinic in Italy where Cat sat by his bedside and read him Wuthering Heights while he was barely conscious. EJ asked Marlena to hypnotize him so he could recover those memories. She did. And she stopped him before he reached the most critical one.

Now EJ has turned around and asked Cat to do the same thing. To sit in the same chair. To let Days of Our Lives most formidable therapist go digging through her mind in that same room. Cat looked at that invitation and said yes.

Wrong answer.

Cat Has a Great Cover and No Business Agreeing to This

Let us be clear about who Cat Greene is. She is an active ISA agent recruited by Shane Donovan and placed inside the DiMera orbit specifically to investigate EJ. Her cover is one of the more elegant ones Salem has produced in years. She got close to EJ through legitimate channels, and has been feeding intelligence back to the ISA while smiling across every table in the DiMera mansion.

That cover survives exactly as long as nobody gets inside her head uninvited.

Sitting down for hypnosis with the woman you have been hiding your identity from is not a small mistake. It is the kind of mistake that ends everything. Marlena Evans has survived more secret identities, ISA plots, and DiMera schemes than anyone else in Salem’s history. Cat agreed because refusing would have looked suspicious. But saying yes means sitting with someone who can hear the things you have buried, and a good hypnotherapist always knows when a subject is steering around something.

Something Is Going to Surface

Here is what happens in that room. Cat goes under believing she can manage it, steering around the parts that would cost her everything. She has been managing EJ for months. She has been managing her brother Mark Greene and his position inside the DiMera lab. She has been managing Rafe Hernandez and the ISA timeline. Cat Greene is the most controlled woman on the canvas right now, and controlled people tend to crack when they are sitting in the dark with someone they genuinely trust.

Marlena is not a stranger to Cat. She is a woman Cat worked alongside and confided in. Under hypnosis, with every defensive layer stripped away, something surfaces. A name. A reference to a call Rafe is waiting on. Something small that Marlena catches before Cat even realizes she said it out loud.

That is not a stretch. That is Salem on a quiet afternoon.

And Then Marlena Has to Decide What to Do With It

This is where it gets truly uncomfortable, and this is the seat nobody in that building wants to be sitting in.

Marlena Evans is bound by confidentiality. What a patient says in a session belongs to the patient. She cannot walk out of that room and hand what she learned to EJ DiMera on his way through the door. That is not how she operates.

Except there is one exception. It applies when what she heard constitutes a credible threat to the patient or to someone else. An active undercover ISA agent embedded inside a DiMera criminal enterprise does not only put Cat at risk. It puts everyone around her at risk, including EJ DiMera.

The question of whether Marlena drops that bomb or keeps it buried will say something very loud about how much she trusts EJ DiMera with the truth, and Salem has never once made that easy.

Does Marlena Evans have an obligation to tell EJ what she hears in that room, or does confidentiality protect even an ISA agent living a double life? Sound off below because this comment section is going to get loud!
