OWEN KENT IS WINNING FROM BEHIND BARS AND HE DID NOT NEED TO LIFT A FINGER

TL;DR: Owen Kent sat in that interrogation room on Days of Our Lives and played Jeremy Horton and Alex Kiriakis against each other like a man who has already won. Meanwhile Stephanie Johnson told Chanel she cannot stand it when Alex touches her because she sees Owen’s face instead of his. This storyline is about to detonate.

Owen Kent Turned an Interrogation Into a Performance

Owen Kent was supposed to be the one sweating in that interrogation room. He was the one behind bars. He was the one who kidnapped Stephanie Johnson, held her captive in a secret lab beneath the Tom Horton Free Clinic, tied up Jeremy Horton, and declared his delusional love for a woman he has been obsessing over since 2009. But when Jeremy walked into that room today, Owen did not cower. He performed. He went full camp villain. Mocking. Theatrical. He looked Jeremy dead in the face and threw every one of his past sins back at him. The abusive history with Stephanie. The man Jeremy used to be. Owen Kent made himself the moral authority in the room, and the sickest part is that some of what he said was not entirely wrong.

Jeremy told Owen that if he ever hurt Stephanie again he would tear him limb from limb. He also mentioned the DA was offering Owen a deal involving a mental institution, which is soap opera code for “this man will absolutely escape before the year is out.” Owen took that threat, smiled through it, and waited for the next visitor to walk through the door.

Alex Walked In and Made It Worse

Then Alex Kiriakis showed up and heard Jeremy threatening Owen on Stephanie’s behalf. Alex confronted Owen himself, announced that he was Stephanie’s husband, and tried to establish dominance over a man who spent weeks outsmarting the entire Salem police department. Owen responded by calling out Alex’s history with women. Every single one of them.

But the real damage happened in the hallway afterward. Alex pulled Jeremy aside and told him that he came to visit Stephanie yesterday and saw them having “a moment.” He heard Stephanie tell Jeremy that she could not have gotten through the kidnapping without him. And Alex, in his most possessive way, told Jeremy that from now on he would be the one filling that role. He was her husband. He needed Jeremy to back off. Jeremy refused. He said that if Stephanie needed him at any time, he would be there. Alex walked away thinking he had drawn a line. What he actually did was push Jeremy closer to the center of Stephanie’s world.

Stephanie Told Chanel Everything and It Is Devastating

While her husband and her rescuer were busy measuring themselves against each other in front of the man who kidnapped her, Stephanie Johnson was sitting with Chanel Dupree and saying the words that are going to change everything. She cannot stand it when Alex touches her. When he got to the hospital and stroked her cheek, she woke up and imagined Owen’s face instead of his. That is not a plot point. That is trauma. And Days of Our Lives is handling it with the kind of specificity that makes this storyline genuinely uncomfortable to watch in the best possible way. Stephanie is not falling out of love with Alex because of anything he did. She is falling out of her ability to feel safe in his presence. And Alex, who is too busy puffing his chest at Jeremy to notice, has no idea what is happening to his own wife.

Owen Kent Is Winning From Behind Bars

Here is what makes this story so diabolical. Owen Kent does not need to escape to destroy Stephanie Johnson’s marriage. He has already done it. Alex is playing jealous and controlling with the one man who actually helped Stephanie survive. Jeremy is the person Stephanie trusts. Jeremy is the person who found her in that lab, who tried to get her out, who got kidnapped himself trying to save her. And Alex’s response is to tell Jeremy to step aside because he has the marriage certificate.

Owen Kent played Jeremy and Alex today. He did not need to lift a finger. He just needed two testosterone fueled men in the same room, competing over a woman who is too traumatized to tell either of them the truth.

Is Alex pushing Stephanie straight into Jeremy’s arms without even realizing it? And how long before Owen finds a way out of that institution? Sound off below because this storyline is only getting started!
