This Week in Salem

Rachel Black is going to walk into a courtroom this week and walk out with her world in pieces. The hearing for the EJ shooting will finally happen, and by Friday, the judge’s ruling will devastate her in a way that nobody in her corner saw coming. Meanwhile, EJ DiMera will weaponize Lexie Carver‘s existence to force Paulina Price into doing whatever he wants, Marlena Evans will stumble onto something chilling, and Jada Hunter will ask Shawn Brady to move in with her. Leo Stark will pour his heart out to Marlena about being caught between Dimitri and Javi. Gabi will tell Philip she loves him while hiding the one secret that could end them. And Salem is about to have five of the loudest days it has had in a long time.

Monday, March 23

Jeremy Horton will share big news with Julie, and given that he was just exonerated after Owen’s arrest, this is likely he’ll be staying in Salem permanently. Stephanie Johnson will try to believe EJ about something, which is already a sentence that should come with a warning label. Leo Stark will open up to Marlena about the impossible situation he’s in with Dimitri Von Leuschner and Javi. Rafe Hernandez and Jada will review their open cases, which at this point could fill a filing cabinet. And EJ will use Lexie’s existence to force Paulina into doing his bidding, because EJ DiMera doesn’t have leverage unless he is squeezing someone with it. Paulina kept his secret from Abe. Now she’s paying the price for that loyalty. Or lack thereof.

Tuesday, March 24

Gabi Hernandez will offer Philip Kiriakis comfort, and they’ll confess their love for each other while Gabi is still hiding the merger blowup secret that could torch everything. Sarah Horton will talk to Maggie Kiriakis about her feelings for Xander, which means the Sarah and Brady Black situation may already be losing its spark. Tate Black will have trouble reconnecting with Holly Jonas, who is still unknowingly being wrecked from the inside out by Sophia’s drugged vitamins. And Liam Selejko will lie to Ari, because apparently surviving a shootout and a stalker was not enough chaos for one week. Whatever Liam is hiding, Ari deserves better.

Wednesday, March 25

Marlena will make a chilling discovery, and given everything that has been happening with EJ’s lab, Sophia’s pill scheme, and Lexie’s resurrection pod, the possibilities are terrifying. Sarah will call out EJ, and she won’t be gentle. Kristen DiMera and Rachel Black will prepare to face the consequences of the EJ shooting, which is the calm before the courtroom storm. Arianna Horton will give Liam good news, and this will be Marissa Reyes’s final airdate in the role. And Leo and Gwen Rizczech will trade insults, because some things in Salem never change.

Thursday, March 26

Jada will ask Shawn to move in with her, which is a bold move considering Belle Black already volunteered to help care for him after the shooting. JJ Deveraux will open up to Theo Carver about the guilt he is carrying from the shootout, which means the man whose hesitation got Shawn shot is confessing to the friend he nearly killed years ago. Full circle moment! Marlena and EJ will find common ground, which is a sentence nobody expected to read. Kristen will be defiant at the hearing, because Kristen doesn’t know how to be anything else. And Belle will fight to prevent charges against Rachel, which tells you exactly how badly this hearing is about to go. If Belle is playing defense, the prosecution is swinging hard.

Friday, March 27

Kristen will threaten Marlena, because apparently being in a courtroom all week taught her nothing. The judge’s ruling will devastate Rachel, and whatever that ruling is, it will hit harder than Bayview, harder than the confession, and harder than anything this girl has faced so far. Johnny DiMera and Chanel Dupree will prepare for baby Trey’s adoption hearing, which could get messy fast considering Sophia is still blackmailing Melinda Trask to put a stop to it entirely. And EJ DiMera will step up, which isn’t like him. Salem does not get quiet weeks. But this one is going to be louder than most.
