Stephen OYoung joins Days of Our Lives this week as Jason Choi, Sophia Choi’s father, arriving in Salem during a Choi family crisis.

STEPHEN OYOUNG ARRIVES IN SALEM THIS WEEK AS JASON CHOI
TL;DR: Stephen OYoung is heading to Salem this week. The Marvel’s Spider-Man star joins Days of Our Lives as Jason Choi, Sophia Choi’s father, arriving in town to support his family after the tragic circumstances surrounding her presumed death.
The Choi Family Patriarch Finally Steps Onto the Canvas
Stephen OYoung is Salem-bound. According to a report from Soap Opera News, the accomplished actor, voice performer, and Wushu master is set to debut this week on Days of Our Lives as Jason Choi, the long-awaited father of Sophia Choi.
Up until now, Salem viewers have known the Choi family mostly through Sophia and her mother, Amy Choi. Sophia’s father and her brothers have been mentioned plenty over the past year, but never seen on canvas. That changes this week as Stephen OYoung steps into Salem to bring Sophia’s long-discussed father to life.
Jason arrives in town to support his family in the wake of the tragic circumstances surrounding Sophia. With Amy reeling and the Choi family in mourning, his entrance lands at one of the most emotionally charged moments of the storyline so far.

Who Is Stephen OYoung?
If Jason Choi already looks familiar, there is a very good reason. Stephen OYoung has built one of the most impressive multi-disciplinary careers in entertainment, with credits stretching across film, television, and video games.
Gamers will recognize him instantly as the voice and motion-capture performer behind Martin Li, the villain better known as Mister Negative, in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. His work in those titles earned serious acclaim from critics and the gaming community alike, and the role remains one of the most talked-about performances in the entire franchise.
That role was no small undertaking. Mister Negative is one of the more morally complex villains in the Spider-Man universe, and OYoung brought the layered humanity of Martin Li to life across both games. The franchise has gone on to sell tens of millions of copies worldwide, and his performance is consistently called out as one of the highlights.
A World-Class Fight Coordinator and Wushu Expert
Beyond acting, OYoung is also a world-class Wushu expert and a highly respected fight coordinator in Hollywood. He has trained some of the biggest names in the industry, including Keanu Reeves for 47 Ronin, Denzel Washington for The Equalizer, and Adam Driver for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Training A-list actors for some of the most physically demanding roles in modern cinema is a rarefied skill set. It requires technical mastery, choreographic vision, and the patience to bring out the best in performers working under pressure. OYoung has been quietly behind some of the most memorable action sequences of the last decade.
His on-screen acting resume runs equally deep. Film credits include Twisters, Sicario, and Olympus Has Fallen, while television fans may recognize him from Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, The Book of Boba Fett, SEAL Team, and For All Mankind. With a foundation in action, drama, and performance capture, his arrival in Salem brings a fresh kind of energy to the canvas.
What to Expect From Jason Choi
Given his range, Jason Choi already feels like a character who could leave a lasting mark on Salem. Grief-driven introductions tend to open the door to massive storylines, and the Choi family has so much unexplored history that the timing could not be more interesting. There are unanswered questions about Sophia, a mother in mourning, and an entire family dynamic that will step onto the canvas for the first time.
Days of Our Lives has been steadily building out its newer family canvases, and the Choi family is one of the most-watched of the recent additions. Fans have been waiting to meet the rest of this clan for months, and the patriarch’s arrival opens the door to so many possibilities.
Daytime audiences love nothing more than a grieving father walking into a hot mess of a family crisis, and Salem is currently serving up exactly that. Whether Jason is here to bring comfort, demand answers, or rattle a few cages along the way, OYoung’s arrival adds a brand new chess piece to a board that has been moving very fast.
