Let Us Start With What Doesn’t Add Up

Vivian Alamain is reportedly dead. A grave with her name on it sits in the Alamain estate cemetery. A death certificate has been filed in Alamainia. EJ DiMera told Gwen Rizczech that Vivian would “no longer be a problem.” And on Tuesday, Philip Kiriakis learned that the woman who carried him after stealing Kate’s embryo and having it implanted in herself is gone. Ivan called Philip sobbing so hard he could barely get the words out.

But here’s the problem. Ivan was supposed to be missing too. The ISA confirmed that both Vivian and Ivan were untraceable. Andrew Donovan said they were last headed to a cemetery when they vanished. So how is he making phone calls? Either Ivan escaped and genuinely believes Vivian is dead, or someone is forcing him to sell the story. Neither option means Vivian is in that grave.

Picture it. Vivian Alamain, the woman who drugged Carly Manning and then buried her alive in a coffin, is now supposedly the one in the ground. The poetic justice would be staggering. But here is the thing about Vivian. She is the one person in Salem who knows precisely what being buried alive looks like, what it takes to survive it, and how to stage the entire thing.

What if Vivian faked her own death? EJ’s walls were closing in. Gwen was panicking. The ISA was investigating the house where Dimitri was held. Vivian had hired Klaus, bankrolled the DiMera kidnappings, and was running out of allies. If she saw the endgame coming, staging her death and having Ivan sell the lie would be the most Vivian move in the entire history of this show.

What If Stefan DiMera Is Alive and He Did This to His Own Mother

Now here is where it gets truly diabolical. What if Vivian didn’t fake her death? What if someone put her in that grave? And what if that someone is her own son?

Stefan DiMera was never confirmed dead on screen. Vivian kidnapped him, had Ivan drag him to Alamainia, and forged his divorce from Gabi Hernandez. She claims his transplanted heart from his twin Jake gave out, but she did not file the death certificate until two months later. The DNA from the exhumed remains would match because Jake was his identical twin.

If Stefan is alive and he escaped, imagine his rage. His mother kidnapped him and forged his divorce from the woman he loved. His mother ruined his life. A son with that kind of rage and access to Alamainia could absolutely turn the tables on Vivian and bury her alive.

And someone placed flowers at that grave. That is not the behavior of a hired killer. That is not how EJ’s fixer Rita operates. That is the behavior of a son who did what he felt he had to do and came back to say goodbye.

What If EJ Already Has Her Exactly Where He Wants Her

There is a third possibility. EJ has Dr. Rolf’s resurrection technology. He told Gwen that Vivian was handled. He has Rita operating in Alamainia as his personal fixer. What if EJ didn’t kill Vivian at all? What if he buried her alive and is keeping her in a state between life and death? EJ has proven he will do whatever it takes to protect his projects.
