GH HOT PLOT! Brook Lynn Quartermaine Once Gave Up a Child and Now She Is Fighting to Keep A Whole Different One
Brook Lynn Quartermaine once gave up a child. Now she is fighting to foster baby Phoebe. This storyline is going to wreck us.
BROOK LYNN QUARTERMAINE IS FIGHTING FOR BABY PHOEBE AND GENERAL HOSPITAL KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS DOING
TL;DR: Brook Lynn Quartermaine and Harrison Chase have applied to foster baby Phoebe on General Hospital, and if you know Brook Lynn’s history of giving up a child, you already know why this storyline is going to absolutely wreck us.
Let Us Talk About What This Actually Means
Brook Lynn Quartermaine gave up a child. She handed her son to someone else to raise, watched him grow up from a distance, and carried that decision with her through every single chapter of her life since. It shaped her. It changed her. It is written into everything she does and everything she protects and everything she cannot walk away from.
And now she is standing in a hospital room next to Harrison Chase looking at a baby girl whose mother died bringing her into the world and saying she wants to be her family.
General Hospital did not stumble into this storyline. They walked directly into it with their eyes open and we are going to feel every single step.

Baby Phoebe and What She Represents
Here is what we know about baby Phoebe. Her mother Delilah Wilson died bringing her into the world. She has been in the NICU fighting since the moment she arrived. The PCPD has been searching for her family and coming up empty. If nothing changes before Phoebe is well enough to leave the hospital she goes to a foster home.
Brook Lynn heard that and did not hesitate.
She and Chase applied to be Phoebe’s foster parents. Not because it is easy. Not because the timing is perfect. Because Brook Lynn Quartermaine walked into that NICU, sat beside a baby who had nobody, and recognized something in that situation that she could not walk away from.
A child alone in the world. A family willing to show up. Brook Lynn has been on both sides of that equation and she knows exactly what it costs to be on the wrong one.
The History That Makes This So Layered
Brook Lynn gave up her son Bailey Lou under circumstances that were complicated and painful and entirely her own to carry. She watched him grow up believing someone else was his mother. She missed years she cannot get back. She has built her entire present around being present in a way her past would not allow.
That history does not make fostering Phoebe a fix. It does not make this a redemption arc with a neat bow. What it makes it is deeply human. A woman who knows what it feels like for a child to need a family reaching toward a child who needs one. A woman who has spent years learning how to stay finally deciding to stay for someone who cannot ask her to.
What Comes Next
Chase is in this completely. The man who has spent this entire season showing up for Brook Lynn in every possible way just looked at his wife and agreed to open their home to a baby they have known for days. That is not impulsive. That is two people who know exactly what they want their life to look like deciding to build it right now.
The complications are coming. Delilah’s family could still be found. The Dawn of Day connection to Phoebe’s story has not been fully unpacked. There are threads here that General Hospital is clearly not finished pulling.
But right now, in this moment, Brook Lynn Quartermaine is sitting beside a baby who has nobody and saying she will be somebody for her. And after everything this character has carried for years that is not a small thing.
That is everything.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine is fighting for baby Phoebe and we are completely here for it. Do you think she and Chase should become Phoebe’s permanent family? Sound off below!
WATCH THIS: Speaking of babies…
@soapoperamag GIVE US A JABRITT BABY! Okay, listen, I can respect Steve Burton taking Jason off canvas to spend time with his family. I can respect the show sending him and Britt away, I guess. But, I feel like a way to make this break up to us is by having the pair come back with a Morgan bun in Britt's oven. Wouldn't it be fun if their return coincided with a Britt pregnancy? #GeneralHospital โฌ original sound – Soap Opera Magazine
