How Did Curtis Go From Victim to PRIME Suspect So Quickly?

Let’s talk about the WHIPLASH Curtis Ashford must be experiencing right now. This man spent MONTHS being systematically destroyed by Drew Cain’s blackmail schemes after Drew threatened to expose the fact that Portia Robinson tampered with Heather Webber’s medical test results, which would have made her lose her medical license and send her to prison. Then Drew launched a federal investigation into Curtis’s aunt Stella Henry for insurance fraud and literally orchestrated Curtis’s removal from Aurora Media, the company Curtis helped BUILD. Why? So Drew could hand control over to Michael Corinthos instead.

Which wasn’t very nice at all.

Curtis tried EVERYTHING to stop Drew’s reign of terror. He exposed Drew’s affair with Nina Reeves to Willow Tait right before their wedding, hoping it would blow up Drew’s relationship and take away his leverage. He formed an alliance with Michael Corinthos to unmask Drew’s wrongdoings and expose his political corruption. And he flat-out THREATENED to kill Drew—a threat that Kai Taylor overheard and can now testify to. Curtis was a desperate man. One who was desperate to protect his wife and family from Drew’s manipulation.

Now the PCPD has taken another look at Curtis being Drew’s potential shooter. In the November 24-28 weekly preview, Dante Falconeri was seen flipping through a file saying “Maybe we should take another look at Curtis” while Portia panics at the art gallery. The dramatic irony is CRUSHING. Curtis spent months being Drew’s VICTIM, and now he’s being investigated as Drew’s attempted murderer on General Hospital.

The Timing With Portia’s Pregnancy Bombshell Is DEVASTATING

All that is bad. Very, very bad. But here’s where Curtis’s situation gets EXPONENTIALLY worse. Right as the PCPD is zeroing in on him as a prime suspect, Jordan Ashford figured out that Portia is pregnant and went STRAIGHT to Curtis with the news. Now, Curtis is THRILLED about becoming a father! This is something he never got to experience with Trina Robinson because Portia hid the paternity truth for over twenty years.

Curtis has absolutely NO IDEA that Portia ws double-dipping. She slept with Isaiah Gannon just ten days after sleeping with him. But, he’s blissfully unaware. He doesn’t have a clue that there’s even a POSSIBILITY the baby might not be his. So, he’s already making plans to trot to prenatal appointments and watch watch his child take their first steps. Little does he know that when the baby’s born, he or she might look like Isaiah.

The pregnancy timing creates a NIGHTMARE scenario for Curtis’s defense. If the police investigation intensifies and Portia is forced to provide Curtis with an alibi for the night of Drew’s shooting, she’ll have to admit she was in bed with Isaiah Gannon. That revelation won’t just expose her affair—it’ll destroy Curtis’s dream of being a father while he’s SIMULTANEOUSLY fighting murder charges.

Drew Could Tamper With Paternity Results For the ULTIMATE Revenge

Here’s the most DIABOLICAL possibility that General Hospital fans are discussing: Drew Cain could get his hands on Portia’s paternity test results and tamper with them as the ULTIMATE revenge against Curtis. Drew already acknowledged in the November 26th episode that although he believes Curtis shot him, he’s looking for “another way” to make Curtis pay beyond just sending him to prison.

Because he’s a weasel.

What could be more devastating than Curtis believing he’s finally getting to be a father from the beginning, only to have the DNA results tell him the baby isn’t his? Drew has motive, connections, and the ruthlessness to pull this off. Portia will eventually need a paternity test, and if Drew discovers the situation, he could absolutely use it as a weapon.

The twist is that Drew doesn’t even need to ACTUALLY tamper with the results. He just needs to play a game of let’s pretend and get Curtis to BELIEVE he did. Imagine Curtis getting results saying Isaiah is the father, knowing Drew had access to manipulate them. Would Curtis trust those results? Would he demand another test? The psychological warfare alone would be DEVASTATING, especially if Curtis is already fighting murder charges and losing everything else in his life.
