A Snake Has Infiltrated Sonny’s Organization! GH’s Ethan Lovett Has a Secret Boss and a Body to Deliver
Ethan Lovett came back to Port Charles on GH working for Cullum. Sonny Corinthos hired him anyway. The hit on Sidwell will land on Sonny.

ETHAN LOVETT IS WORKING FOR CULLUM AND SONNY CORINTHOS IS THE PATSY
TL;DR: Ethan Lovett walked back into Port Charles on General Hospital offering to kill Jenz Sidwell on day one and Sonny Corinthos hired him without asking the right questions. Ethan is not loyal. Ethan is not freelance. Ethan is on Cullum’s payroll, and the hit on Sidwell has been the plan from the second he stepped off the plane. Sonny is the patsy. The piers were the bait. And the body is already on the calendar.
The Audition Was Too Clean
Ethan Lovett sat down across from Sonny Corinthos and offered to kill Jenz Sidwell like he was offering to grab the next round. He had the motive ready. He had the personal angle ready. He had the line about Sidwell trying to kill his mother locked and loaded. Sonny was impressed. Sonny called it a great read on the situation. Sonny put Ethan on Lucy Coe’s protection detail and walked out of that conversation thinking he had hired himself a useful weapon.
Sonny Corinthos has been running Port Charles for thirty years and he just got played by a returning son with a sob story and a knife in his back pocket. Ethan did not stumble into Sonny’s office on instinct. Ethan walked in on a schedule. Every word out of his mouth was a line he had rehearsed. The personal grudge was real enough on the surface to sell, but the timing was the tell. Ethan did not show up the week the WSB needed a new piece on the board by accident. Ethan showed up the week Cullum needed Sidwell off the board because Sidwell took two of Sonny’s piers without clearing it with the boss.
The pier deal is the receipt. Sidwell got greedy. Sidwell took a power play that Cullum did not authorize. Cullum does not forgive freelancers. The next thing on Cullum’s desk after that pier transfer was a one-way ticket back to Port Charles for a man with a believable cover story and a very specific assignment. Ethan Lovett is that man. The contract was signed before he ever pretended to care about Holly.

The Hit Is Already Scheduled
The hit on Sidwell is going to happen and it is going to happen soon. Lucy Coe is the access point. Sidwell already invited her into his orbit. Ethan is now in charge of “protecting” her, which means Ethan has every reason to be in the same room with Sidwell whenever he wants. The setup writes itself. Lucy gets close. Sidwell drops his guard. Ethan walks in on the pretext of guarding her and walks out leaving a body on the floor.
The cleanup is the masterpiece. Ethan does not get caught. Ethan does not flee. Ethan stays exactly where he is and points the PCPD straight at Sonny Corinthos. The motive is right there in the public record. Sonny sold the piers to Sidwell under duress. Sonny had reason to want Sidwell dead. Sonny put a hitman on Sidwell’s protection detail under the cover of protecting Lucy. The PCPD is going to follow the breadcrumbs and arrive at Sonny’s front door, and Sonny is going to look up from his espresso and realize the man he hired to kill his enemy was actually hired to frame him for the same kill.
Cullum wins twice. Cullum loses a freelancer who was getting cocky. Cullum loses the only mob boss in the region who was a real threat to his operation. Cullum walks away clean while Sonny Corinthos sits in a holding cell trying to explain why his fingerprints are all over a hit he did not order. The whole play takes one bullet and one phone call.
Ethan Lovett Is Holding the Knife
The thing that should be terrifying every fan watching is how good Ethan is at this. He played Lucy Coe too. Lucy walked into Sonny’s office, talked about her plan to take down Sidwell, and walked out thinking she had a partner. She did not. She walked out tagged. Ethan was watching the whole exchange. Ethan now knows exactly what Lucy is planning, exactly when she plans to do it, and exactly how to make sure her timing lines up with his. Lucy is not a partner. Lucy is a calendar invite.
The yacht is going to be the kill site. The party is going to be the cover. Lucy is going to be the alibi. And by the time anyone in Port Charles realizes the man they trusted to keep her safe is the same man holding the gun, Ethan Lovett will already be sitting in Cullum’s office collecting his next assignment. Sonny Corinthos will be the headline. Lucy Coe will be the witness. And Ethan will be the ghost who walked in, finished the job, and walked back out.
The One Person Who Can Stop This Is Holly Sutton
There is one card left on the table and it is the only card that can flip this. Ethan’s mother. Holly Sutton has a sixth sense for her son’s nonsense and she has been clean of his cons long enough to recognize one when she sees it. The second Holly arrives in Port Charles, which she will, the whole operation starts to crack. Ethan can lie to Sonny. Ethan can lie to Lucy. Ethan can lie to a PCPD detective with his eyes closed. Ethan cannot lie to his mother for more than ten minutes, and Holly Sutton is going to take one look at her son in the same town as Cullum and know exactly what is coming.
The question is whether Holly gets there in time. The question is whether Holly chooses her son or chooses Sonny when the truth comes out. The question is whether Ethan Lovett finishes the job before his own mother walks in and stops him. Right now, Ethan is holding the knife, the schedule, and the alibi. Sonny Corinthos has no idea he hired the wrong man. And the body on the floor is going to have Sidwell’s name on it but Sonny’s signature.
