General Hospital Recap September 23, 2026: Willow Tait Wants Jack Brennan Found, And Ava Jerome Knows Exactly Where To Dig

WILLOW AND AVA TEAM UP IN THIS GENERAL HOSPITAL RECAP

TL;DR: This General Hospital Recap catches Willow Tait and Ava Jerome joining forces to clear Nina Reeves while Ava quietly steers suspicion toward Carly Spencer, Ava tearing into Sonny Corinthos over Avery, Sonny running a Pentonville message service as Curtis Ashford gets an ominous tip, Chase hiring Monet Mitchell and sending Tracy Quartermaine into battle mode, Trina Robinson and Gio Palmieri cutting Brook Lynn Quartermaine out of their music deal, and Drew Cain wooing Kai Taylor before catching Willow holding Chase’s hand.

Willow And Ava Play Detective

Willow Tait sits down with Ava Jerome at the Gardens restaurant for a strategy session on springing Nina Reeves from Steinmauer, and her master plan is refreshingly simple: find Jack Brennan. Ava, who knows precisely where Jack is because she helped put him there, instantly develops the posture of a woman seated on a cushion full of thumbtacks.

Willow lays out her theory that somebody slipped Jack’s wallet into Nina’s car to frame her, which is, awkwardly, exactly what happened, and Ava nods along like she’s hearing it for the very first time. Then comes the masterstroke. Ava floats Carly Spencer as the likely culprit, suggesting Carly made Brennan vanish and then aimed the WSB at Nina to knock out two problems with one move. Pinning your own crime on Carly is a General Hospital tradition older than half the town’s marriages, and Ava pulls it off without breaking a sweat. Well, visibly.

Willow is grateful for the fresh perspective and swears she’ll go to war for her mother. Ava seals the deal with a stirring speech about how Nina might be short on allies, but she has both of them firmly on her side. It’s a gorgeous sentiment from the woman whose partner in crime planted that wallet in the first place. Somebody get Ava an Emmy, or a priest.

Ava barely has time to swallow her guilt before a call from Avery Corinthos‘s school sends her charging over to Sonny Corinthos‘s place. She’s livid that Sonny pulled their daughter out of class without a heads-up, and she has zero interest in hearing why. Her parting shot: Sonny’s days of sneaking around her when it comes to Avery are officially over. Bold talk from a woman currently sneaking around everyone about a dead WSB agent.

Sonny Corinthos Sends A Prison Memo

Over at Sonny’s, he and Ric Lansing map out their bid for a pair of piers going up at auction. Sonny fully expects Drew Cain to be his fiercest rival and to fight dirty the moment he gets the chance. Ric gently reminds his half-brother that retiring from the mob means the old toolbox is locked in storage, and Sonny insists he wouldn’t reach for it anyway, since he promised Laura Collins he’d leave Drew alone. Sure, Jan. Fresh off that parking lot kiss, this man’s promises have a very flexible shelf life.

Then the doorbell rings, Sonny steps aside for a private word with one of his associates, and he comes back to breezily announce that he’s sent a message to an inmate at Pentonville. Ric, understandably, would like a few more details. Sonny explains that he looks out for the loved ones of a handful of inmates, and in exchange they keep tabs on Jenz Sidwell for him. Totally standard retired-businessman behavior. Ric’s take is that Drew is the bigger threat and deserves every ounce of Sonny’s focus.

Speaking of Pentonville, Portia Robinson surprises Curtis Ashford by bringing their baby boy for a special visit she set up with the warden. Curtis is moved, and Portia vows she’ll never keep him from their son. When the conversation drifts to Brook Lynn Quartermaine‘s confession, Curtis owns that he regrets hurting Isaiah Gannon, but he wants it crystal clear that there’s only one dad in this picture. Portia assures him that’s the entire point of the visit, since she wants the whole crew under one roof when he walks out of there.

Unfortunately, Pentonville doesn’t do happy endings. Once Portia heads out with the baby, an inmate who’d been chatting with Sonny’s associate at a nearby table sidles up and advises Curtis to invent a reason to be anywhere but his cell once lunch wraps up. Nothing says relaxing afternoon like a scheduling tip from a fellow convict.

Tracy Quartermaine Meets Her Match

Chase sits down on the Metro Court patio to meet Monet Mitchell, a onetime L.A. lawyer who now works at Miller & Davis, on a referral from Alexis Davis. Chase confesses he still loves his wife and isn’t sure he’s ready to pull the divorce trigger, but he needs a game plan that guarantees he won’t lose his little girl. Monet’s advice: a legal separation comes first, both to protect his rights as a parent and to shield him from any cheating claims. Chase swears romance is the last thing on his mind, which is exactly what every soap character says moments before a wildly inconvenient hand-hold.

Monet also wants him back under the Quartermaine roof pronto, since a hotel suite reads poorly to a judge, and promises she’ll handle Tracy Quartermaine personally. Chase signs on the dotted line.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Brook Lynn bristles when Tracy hints that Chase packing his bags might be a blessing in disguise, and she vows to rebuild her family with the truth and a whole lot of love instead of scheming. Tracy slaps on her most convincing supportive-grandma face when Brook Lynn reveals she talked Chase into pausing the separation, and she promises top-tier lawyers if things go south. Once Brook Lynn heads out, Tracy settles in for backgammon with Yuri and pumps him for intel on whether Chase has been hanging around Willow, hoping a little infidelity will hand Brook Lynn custody of the baby.

Tracy’s plotting session gets rudely interrupted when Monet strolls through the door and announces Chase is returning to the house and going after custody of his little girl. Tracy immediately gears up for war. Finally, a worthy opponent.

Trina And Gio Hit Pause

Over at her apartment, Trina Robinson tells Gio Palmieri she can’t pursue a music career Brook Lynn built as a guilt offering. Gio decides their friendship outranks any duet, so he’s bowing out too. Then Brook Lynn knocks, and her own son informs her they’re pulling the exit option in their deal. Thanksgiving is going to be so fun this year.

Brook Lynn pleads with Trina to keep the opportunity, insisting she refuses to be the reason music gets stripped from her life too. Trina buys the sincerity and agrees that she and Gio will keep the deal alive on one condition: Brook Lynn stays out of it entirely. Brook Lynn accepts and exits looking like someone kicked her favorite puppy.

Once they’re alone, Trina thanks Gio for having her back, and he admits Brook Lynn can’t be both his manager and his mom, and the mom part is the one that needs repairs. Then the pair pick up the phone to line up their next gig, proving the show goes on, minus one Quartermaine.

Drew Cain Is Always Watching

Drew, meanwhile, corners Kai Taylor at Aurora Wellness about knowing all along who really pulled the trigger on him: Willow. Drew admits it took him a while to crack the mystery of Kai’s silence, before concluding that Kai and Trina swiped the incriminating evidence out of his safe. Instead of threats, though, Drew serves compliments, praising Kai’s rare integrity for staying put to shield a man he can’t stand, and dangles a paycheck in front of his onetime intern. Kai passes. Drew leaves the door wide open, because nothing in Port Charles is scarier than Drew being nice.

Across the gym, Chase is pumping iron to work through his feelings when Willow drifts over, and he admits the workout is damage control after a sit-down with a divorce lawyer. Willow takes his hand in solidarity, and of course that’s the precise moment Drew rounds the corner and gets an eyeful of his ex-wife getting hands-on with Brook Lynn’s husband. Monet is going to need a bigger briefcase.

Port Charles Keeps Its Lawyers Busy

One woman pledged loyalty to her best friend while pointing the finger at Carly to cover her own tracks, then stormed off to lecture Sonny about secrets. One supposedly retired mobster is running a jailhouse message service, and one inmate got a lunchtime warning that has everybody holding their breath. A shaky marriage picked up a sharp new lawyer and a very bad photo op, two young musicians cut Mom out of the band, and Drew managed to be charming and terrifying in the same gym session. In Port Charles, that’s a pretty quiet Wednesday.
