Jude Lands in the Middle of a Marriage on Fire

These General Hospital spoilers point to a mystery man named Jude, and his timing could not be worse for Brook Lynn Quartermaine. Wil Traval, best known as Will Simpson on Netflix’s Jessica Jones, was cast as Jude on September 18 and debuts in October. The show is keeping his surname and his business in Port Charles under wraps.

Traval’s own tease was pure soap: “Just looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet. I don’t need any troubles.” Darling, nobody moves to Port Charles for peace and quiet. And the house he’s most likely to land in is already burning down.

Harrison Chase moved out of the Quartermaine mansion on September 16, after Brook Lynn’s frame job on Willow came out. He told her he’d already talked to Alexis about a legal separation, and they agreed to hold off on the paperwork for now. On Thursday he told Tracy he still loves his wife but can’t get past her lies. On Friday, he shuts Brook Lynn down.

Michael Is Already Playing the Custody Game

Nobody has filed for custody yet, but everybody is circling. On Thursday, Michael Corinthos told Brook Lynn Quartermaine not to file for separation, to stay sharp and fight for her daughter. He even predicted Chase would sleep with Willow Cain, which would hand her the upper hand. Then she figured out Michael had moved Willow into the gatehouse for exactly that reason, and she shoved him into the lake.

That’s the scheme he and Tracy Quartermaine cooked up last month. Meanwhile Tracy is telling Chase to “forgive her and move on.” This family is fighting dirty over a baby, and they think they’re fighting each other.

Who Is Jude on General Hospital?

Officially, nobody knows. But the head writers gave us a big hint in their fall preview. Brook Lynn’s secret, they said, “may finally unravel their marriage; worse, it may leave the family vulnerable when someone comes calling with a claim on Phoebe.” That marriage is unraveling right on schedule, and a stranger with no last name arrives in October. Do the math.

Here’s the clue that makes Jude so dangerous. Phoebe’s mother, Delilah Wilson, died after giving birth. Ethan Lovett posed as the father, then swapped his DNA sample for one he lifted from the PCPD evidence room. He later admitted to Ava he isn’t the dad. So whoever really fathered Phoebe has a police file sitting in Port Charles.

Hudson Parker Already Found the Baby

The man who has shown the most interest in Phoebe is Hudson Parker. In August, he bugged Ethan’s hotel room and learned the baby was alive and adopted by Chase and Brook Lynn Quartermaine. Then he met her and couldn’t hide how much it got to him. But Hudson is new to town. Why would his DNA be sitting in a PCPD box?

And Hudson isn’t working alone. After Josslyn took the top job at JJE, he got on the phone and griped that it would “screw up our plans.” Our plans. Spoiler chatter says Jude could be Hudson’s boss. If that’s true, Phoebe may be leverage in a much bigger game.

Jude Has Four Doors to Knock On

Every door he picks is ugly. He may be on his own side, the long-lost father with a lawyer and a paternity test. He may be on Hudson’s side, collecting what Hudson found. If I know these writers, though, he’ll cozy up to one of the parents first.

Picture Jude offering Chase a way to keep his daughter, or offering a desperate Brook Lynn Quartermaine a way to beat her husband in court. Either one would split that family right down the middle, and that’s what makes a stranger so useful. My gut tells me he plays both, and Phoebe ends up the prize.
