General Hospital Recap September 16, 2026: Nina Reeves Is Hauled Off in Handcuffs for Jack Brennan’s Murder While Chase Walks Out on Brook Lynn

NINA REEVES GETS ARRESTED FOR A MURDER SHE DIDN’T COMMIT WHILE THE REAL KILLER WATCHES FROM A NEARBY TABLE

TL;DR: This General Hospital Recap catches Nina Reeves getting cuffed and dragged out of the Metro Court for Jack Brennan’s murder while the actual culprit sits comfortably three towns away, Chase packs his bags and asks a lawyer about ending his marriage to Brook Lynn, Anna keeps shoving Valentin toward Carly instead of plainly admitting she wants him around, and Charlotte cooks up a scheme involving her own body as bait.

A Very Public Perp Walk

It was another Wednesday over at General Hospital, which, this week, means somebody’s getting arrested in front of a live studio audience. Nina Reeves, blissfully unaware she was about to become the WSB’s favorite hobby, spent her morning making perfectly reasonable small talk with Sonny Corinthos at the Metro Court Gardens. She mentioned she might need Ric Lansing’s lawyering skills, on account of Carly Spencer tattling to the WSB about her public spat with Jack before he vanished. Nothing to worry about, Nina figured. She had no idea where the man was. She was, of course, catastrophically wrong about how little there was to worry about.

Sonny wandered off to be lightly guilt-tripped by Tracy Quartermaine, who wanted him to strong-arm Chase into forgiving Brook Lynn. Sonny, showing more self-awareness than Tracy’s entire family tree combined, pointed out that maybe she should focus on the marriage she can’t fix instead of outsourcing the job. Solid point. Ignored, obviously.

Then Ava Jerome arrived the moment Nina was booking her legal consultation, and Nina, bless her, filled her in on the WSB situation, never once suspecting that Ava happens to know exactly where Jack’s body has been decomposing since Labor Day. Ava fished for information with the subtlety of a woman who buried a man three weeks ago, which is to say, not much. And that’s when Agent William Baines strolled up and arrested Nina on the spot for the disappearance and possible murder of WSB Agent Jack Brennan. Handcuffs. Kicking. Screaming. Cell phones out and recording. Sonny, Tracy, and a horrified Ava got a front-row seat to the show, and somewhere, Drew Cain is sleeping like a baby.

Chase Packs His Bags

Across town, Chase’s marriage kept collapsing in real time. He announced he was moving out, and Brook Lynn, who has had a rough couple of weeks by anyone’s standards, begged him to stay, even offering to move out of the mansion herself. Chase wasn’t buying it. The broken trust, he said, ran deeper than her meddling family. When Brook Lynn brought up his own past lies, he shot back that at least his lies hadn’t involved framing an innocent woman for a crime he’d already forgiven her for lying about once.

The gut punch landed when Chase revealed he’d already talked to Alexis about a legal separation. Brook Lynn talked him into holding off on the paperwork long enough to figure out if the marriage is even salvageable, and invited him back the next day to see Phoebe. The second the door closed, she fell apart. It’s not exactly the redemption arc she was hoping for.

Anna’s Matchmaking Campaign for Her Own Love Life

Carly showed up at Anna’s house and found Valentin there, along with an Anna who looked like she’d been crying for a decade. Carly made an awkward exit, and Anna promptly told Valentin he’s been a different person since he got involved with her, and that he needs to go explain to Carly that he was only there as a friend doing friend things. Valentin has been hearing a version of this speech a lot lately.

Felicia got the call next, and Anna confided that Valentin understands her in a way nobody else does, that he’d seen her at her absolute lowest. And then, in true Anna fashion, she immediately declared she couldn’t lean on him anymore, she’d always love him, but he and Carly deserve their happiness together. Somebody should tell Anna that repeatedly insisting two people belong together usually means you’d like to be a third option.

Over at Carly’s, wine in hand, she made it clear she didn’t want the details of whatever happened at Anna’s, respecting a friend’s privacy, even while drowning her curiosity in Merlot. She did admit she’d gone to check on Anna after catching a scary fight between Emma and Josslyn. Valentin confirmed the WSB was involved in Anna’s situation, and when Carly worried it could tank Josslyn’s career too, he assured her Anna’s mess is tied specifically to her history with Cesar Faison, not something Josslyn’s likely to inherit. He said he wants Anna to find the kind of peace he’s found with Carly. Anna, for her part, keeps engineering that exact sentence out of everyone she talks to.

A Teenage Blackmail Plot Is Born

Down at the Quartermaine stables, where Danny Morgan is still working off his truck-and-speedboat debt, Scout Cainmet him secretly to smooth over a lie. After Drew caught her sneaking around, she’d let her father believe she’d been with Danny, and when Danny got understandably annoyed about being used as an alibi, Scout doubled down, claiming she’d actually been at a college party. The real story, which she’s keeping from basically everyone, is that she was with Rocco.

Enter Charlotte Cassadine, who overheard enough to piece together the truth and dropped the bomb on Danny the second his sister walked away. If Scout keeps sneaking off with her mystery boyfriend, Charlotte reasoned, Drew’s going to catch her eventually and assume Danny’s been in on it the whole time. Her solution required the kind of collateral that keeps a man like Drew from ever pointing a finger, namely, catching him in a compromising position with someone thoroughly inappropriate. Someone like, say, herself.

Not to be outdone on the keeping-secrets-from-Drew front, Ava finally told him about the tick she’d picked up in the nature preserve, worried the CDC’s tracing might lead someone straight to Jack’s grave. She reminded Drew that if she goes down, he’s going down right alongside her. Drew, flashing back to the wallet he planted, promised her that if anyone comes looking for someone to pin Jack’s disappearance on, it will never be Ava.

Later, Scout opened up to her dad about missing him during his recovery and the distance that’s crept in between them since his stroke. Drew vowed nothing would ever pull them apart again, a lovely father-daughter moment from a man who spent his afternoon planting evidence on an innocent woman.

Nina’s in cuffs for a murder she had nothing to do with, Chase is one signature away from ending his marriage, Anna is trying to hand Valentin off like a hot potato she’s secretly still holding, and two teenagers are plotting to catch a grown man on camera doing something scandalous. Port Charles didn’t have one crisis this week, it had a full ecosystem of them, all quietly feeding off each other, and the person who set the biggest one in motion is currently the least suspected man in town. Drew buried a body, framed a woman he despises, and then went home to be a doting father, and somehow Nina’s the one facing a jury.
