Then Sidwell turned. He had been to his safe. He knew the incriminating photos of Laura and Sonny were gone, and he knew exactly whose fingers had been inside. He called Lucas Jones out, and to his credit, Lucas did not bother lying. He admitted he took them. He swore Laura Collins and Sonny Corinthos told him they were being blackmailed. He insisted he was the one trying to do something decent inside a house stuffed with criminals.

Sidwell did not want a confession. He wanted somebody to pay for putting his boy in the ground. He accused Lucas of never loving Marco Rios at all, sobbed out the question of whether Pascal killed his son or whether Lucas framed him, and when Lucas begged him to think of Marco, Sidwell pulled the trigger. Why This One Cuts Deeper

Here is what makes the Lucas situation land harder than the usual Wyndemere body count. Lucas spent months as the only person in that mansion telling himself the lie that Marco was clean and Sidwell was tolerable. He ate the humble pie with Carly. He chose to stay. He played nice with a butler who openly wanted him dead. And the second he finally did the right thing, lifting evidence to protect two people who needed it, it got him gunned down by the grieving father he was too soft to fear.

That is the tragedy SOM lives for. The good man punished the instant he stops being a doormat. The bigger question is what happens to the doctor lying on that concrete, because where this could go next is the part that should keep the whole Wyndemere operation up at night.

Where We Think This Is Headed

Now we speculate, and we are going feral. A man who fires three rounds into someone at his dead son’s construction site is not the type to dial 911. We think Sidwell crouches down, checks for a pulse, decides he likes what he feels, and reaches for the oldest play in the Port Charles villain handbook. The harbor is right there. The water is cold and deep and famously terrible at giving back the things people throw into it. Our prediction is that Sidwell hauls Lucas to the waterfront after dark and tries to let the harbor take the problem off his hands.

The trouble with the Port Charles harbor, though, is that it has a worse retention rate than a soap marriage. People go in. People come back out. Our bet is that Lucas would still be breathing when he hits the water, that the cold slaps him conscious, and that some stubborn streak of survival drags him toward a piling, a ladder, a dock, anything with an edge to grab. He pulls himself out half drowned and bleeding, and he finds his way to help before sunrise.

The Twist That Could Wreck Everyone

Here is the part we cannot stop turning over. Survival is the easy guess. The delicious question is what Lucas would remember when he wakes up. Three bullets, a near drowning, hypothermia, and blood loss are the exact cocktail a soap reaches for when it wants to install convenient amnesia. We think Sidwell could end up handed the perfect gift: a living witness whose mind erased the tape.

Imagine the two versions. In one, Lucas opens his eyes and says the name out loud, and the entire Wyndemere operation starts to crack while Sidwell scrambles to finish what he started. In the other, Lucas remembers walking to the tennis center and absolutely nothing after, his brain slamming a steel door on the trauma, leaving him alive but useless to the one investigation that could finally put Sidwell away. Either way, Lucas would become the most dangerous loose end in town, and the real fun is that Sidwell would not know which version he is dealing with until it is far too late.

Our money says the show drags it out for weeks. Partial flashes. A gun in a nightmare. Lucas swearing something is wrong while everyone around him assumes the poor man is simply rattled. And somewhere on Spoon Island, Sidwell pours himself a drink and waits to learn whether the water finished the job or handed him a ticking bomb in a hospital gown.
