Pine Valley is officially rising from the ashes. The All My Children Lifetime movie has landed its dream writing team, and daytime is buzzing.
All My Children’s Movie Is Really Happening
After years of will-it-or-won’t-it, All My Children is finally getting its Lifetime movie moment. Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens have been hired to co-write the first of two planned films. Both writers confirmed the news themselves on Instagram, following an initial report from Daytime Confidential.
This whole thing is a passion project for Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. The two fell in love playing Hayley and Mateo Santos back in AMC’s original run, and they are now producing the movies through their company, Milojo Productions. Talk about a full-circle Pine Valley romance.
Ron Carlivati is a Daytime Emmy winner with head-writing credits on One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Days of Our Lives, plus recent work on Beyond the Gates. Jamey Giddens just stepped into his new gig as co-head writer of The Young and the Restless, on top of previous work for Beyond the Gates and Daytime Confidential.

What’s Actually Coming Back
All My Children ran on ABC from 1970 to 2011, with a short-lived digital revival in 2013. The show was created by the legendary Agnes Nixon, whose estate is partnering on this comeback.
Ripa and Consuelos have revealed the movie will be set in the present. It will catch fans up on what icons like Erica Kaneand Maria Santos Grey have been up to all this time, and the couple themselves will pop up in brief appearances.
Daytime’s reaction has been pure joy. Chrishell Stause, who played Amanda on AMC, called it a full circle moment.
Melissa Claire Egan, who plays Chelsea Lawson on Y&R and got her start on AMC as Annie, celebrated right alongside her. Karla Mosley, who plays Dani Dupree on Beyond the Gates, piled on the excitement too, crowning Giddens the reigning king of daytime.
