SOAP OPERA MAGAZINE LAUNCHES THE MAGGIES

A New Awards Season Honoring Daytime Television Begins This Fall

Soap Opera Magazine is proud to announce the launch of The Maggies, a brand-new awards event built to celebrate the performances, storylines, and standout moments defining daytime television today. After years of daytime fans debating who truly deserves recognition, Soap Opera Magazine is stepping up to give that conversation an official home.

The Maggies will honor talent and storytelling across all five daytime dramas โ€”ย General Hospital,ย The Young and the Restless,ย The Bold and the Beautiful,ย Days of Our Lives, andย Beyond the Gatesย โ€” recognizing performances that aired between January and December 2025. Every show gets equal spotlight, from the legacy canvases that have anchored daytime for decades to the newer stories still proving themselves.

Why The Maggies?

Daytime television rarely gets the mainstream awards attention it deserves, despite delivering some of the most demanding, emotionally complex performances on TV week after week. The Maggies exist to close that gap. This isn’t a popularity contest thrown together for clicks โ€” it’s a dedicated recognition of the work daytime actors put in year-round, judged on the strength of what actually aired.

Categories will span the full range of daytime storytelling: the powerhouse leads carrying entire canvases, the supporting players who elevate every scene they’re in, the rising younger talent redefining what’s possible for the next generation, and the guest performers who turn a handful of episodes into must-see TV.

Key Dates

September 1st โ€” Nominees announced across every category.

October 1st โ€” Winners revealed.

“Daytime fans have never been shy about who deserves recognition, and now there’s an official place to make that case,” said a Soap Opera Magazine representative. “The Maggies were built to give credit where it’s overdue and celebrate the performances fans have been championing all year. This is just the beginning.”

The Maggies are set to become an annual fixture on the daytime calendar, with full nominee and winner coverage provided by Soap Opera Magazine at every stage โ€” from the initial announcement through the winners reveal and beyond.

Fans with performances, storylines, or moments from 2025 they believe deserve recognition can send their picks to amber@soapoperamagazine.com ahead of the September 1st nominee announcement.

Soap Opera Magazine will continue to provide updates on The Maggies in the weeks ahead, including category breakdowns and behind-the-scenes looks at how nominees are selected. Daytime has waited long enough for a moment like this โ€” now the countdown to nominee season officially begins.

Who do you think deserves a nomination this year? Sound off in the comments below โ€” we’re taking notes.
