On Friday’s General Hospital, Anna Devane was tormented by a vision of Peter August, who had some very interesting things to say. He taunted “Aunty Anna” about missing him, reminded her that “people in his family don’t stay dead” — pointing to Britt and Nathan as examples — and then delivered the most chilling line of all: his father is “finally ready to show himself to her, to have her.”

Anna cried that Peter hated Faison and killed him. Peter’s response? “So I thought, and deep down, Faison always wins.”

But here’s the thing: what if Faison ISN’T the one pulling the strings? What if Peter August is actually alive and using his father’s legend to terrorize Anna and Port Charles? It would be the ultimate twisted revenge — becoming the monster he always hated.

Peter Has Every Reason to Fake His Death

Think about what Peter August’s life became before his supposed death. He was exposed as a villain, lost Maxie, lost his chance at a family, and was universally hated by everyone in Port Charles. The Devane-Scorpio-Jones family wanted nothing to do with him. He had burned every bridge and made enemies out of everyone who once tried to love him.

If Peter faked his death, he could have spent the years since reinventing himself, planning his revenge, and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And what better way to strike than by resurrecting the specter of Cesar Faison — the father whose shadow Peter could never escape?

By pretending to be Faison, Peter gets to be the thing everyone feared most. He gets to terrorize Anna, who he blames for never truly accepting him. He gets to haunt the family that rejected him. And he gets to finally step out of his father’s shadow by BECOMING his father, at least in the eyes of Port Charles.

The Clues Are Adding Up

Let’s look at what we know: Nathan is back but has no memories. Britt is being controlled by Cullum and forced to work on some mysterious “project” at Wyndemere with a three-month deadline. Marco won’t let anyone into the Wyndemere catacombs. Pascal the butler conveniently left for France. And someone is watching, waiting, pulling strings from the shadows.

Peter’s hallucination told Anna that Faison would “come to her when he’s ready.” But what if the person who eventually reveals himself isn’t Faison at all? What if it’s Peter, having stolen his father’s identity and mystique to become the ultimate villain?

It would explain why Nathan has no memories — Peter could have orchestrated his brother’s return specifically to hurt Maxie. It would explain the Wyndemere connection — Peter always had ties to that island. And it would explain why Britt is being controlled — Peter would want his sister under his thumb.

Anna kept screaming “You aren’t real!” at Peter’s vision. But what if she was wrong? What if Peter is very, very real — and he’s been hiding in plain sight as the ghost of Cesar Faison?
