It was not. Once Felicia stepped away, Serena dropped the real news on Lucy Coe: her trust fund is gone. Lucy barely blinked before pivoting straight to business, asking her daughter to help wrestle Deception back from the Quartermaines, and Serena did not say no. She did not even hesitate.

Money has never stayed in her hands for long, because she has never valued it the way the people around her assume she should.

That history matters here. A woman who empties a fortune fighting for whales does not suddenly show up broke and desperate for a handout from anyone, let alone Lucy. Serena Baldwin shows up broke and looking for her next cause, and Lucy handed her one wrapped in a family business the same afternoon she walked through the door. That is not an accident, and it is not going to stay small.

The Brother She’s Never Met Changes the Math

Serena Baldwin is walking into Port Charles ready to finally know Cody Bell, the half-brother born of the same mother she never got to meet. That is not a small errand. It is an emotional debt she has been carrying since before she could talk, and it is exactly the kind of unfinished business that makes a person reckless about everything else happening around her.

Throw in an inheritance that is already gone and a mother figure asking for a favor on day one, and Serena has every reason to say yes to Lucy without asking what saying yes will actually cost her down the line. She has spent her whole life chasing causes bigger than herself; a fight to reclaim a family company might be the first cause that is actually personal. Here is where we think this actually goes: Lucy is not bringing Serena Baldwin in for company, she is building an army, and Michael Corinthos and Maxie Jones will not hand over Deception without a real fight simply because Lucy’s daughter shows up with opinions and a grudge against corporations. Somebody underestimates Serena here, and it will not be the last mistake made where she is concerned. Port Charles has not seen this version of the Baldwin family in a very long time, and it should probably brace itself.
