General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Betrays Carly Spencer With a Cruel New Scheme
General Hospital spoilers: Sonny vows to end Carly and Valentin’s new romance and calls in Brick, but Carly refuses to let her ex win.
TL;DR: Sonny is furious that Carly Spencer went public with Valentin, and word is he plans to send fixer Brick to break it up. Carly refuses to back down, even as Sonny chases his own new romance with Justine. This General Hospital feud is only getting started.
Sonny’s Fury Boils Over
The General Hospital spoilers pouring out of Port Charles just gave us the summer’s messiest triangle, and Sonny Corinthos is planted in the middle of it. Fresh off reclaiming his empire, Sonny is watching his ex-wife Carly Spencer flaunt a brand new romance with Valentin Cassadine, and the sight is eating him alive.
That romance stopped being a secret this week. Carly and Valentin locked lips right outside the hospital, in full view of Sonny, of Lulu Spencer, and of Valentin’s own daughter. The kiss landed like a grenade. Sonny had barely finished cleaning up his latest mob war, and now the woman he swears he is over was kissing a Cassadine on the sidewalk.
Then came the twist that really lit Sonny’s fuse: Valentin walked away a free man, handed a full pardon that wiped his record clean. No handcuffs and no prison, just a clean slate and Carly on his arm. If you want to track every twist landing across Port Charles this week, there is plenty happening around town. For Sonny, a pardoned Valentin dating his ex is the worst possible outcome.

Where Carly Spencer Stands Now
Carly is not backing down, and that is what makes this delicious. She just clawed her way out of one relationship that blew up in spectacular fashion, and she is not about to let her ex-husband pick her next one. When Sonny corners her with a warning to drop Valentin before she gets burned, Carly reportedly tells him flat out that this is her life now. She means it.
For a woman who has spent a lifetime cleaning up other people’s messes, Carly is done asking permission. Valentin gets her. He does not flinch at her edges, and he does not treat her like a possession to be managed. That alone explains why she is willing to torch the peace with Sonny to keep him.
Here is the part that should make Sonny squirm. While he plays protective ex, he has been cozying up to Justine Turner, the attorney who just talked him out of pulling a trigger. Sonny gets a fresh start with a new woman, but Carly is supposed to answer to him about hers? The double standard is loud, and Port Charles is going to hear it.
Will Sonny Break Up Carly and Valentin on General Hospital?
Not without a fight, and not without help. Word from the writers is that Sonny plans to call in Brick, his most trusted fixer, to blow the romance apart before it takes root. That is the move that turns a jealous ex into a genuine threat, because Brick does not do subtle. For Carly Spencer, it means the man she divorced is about to weaponize the whole organization against her happiness.
Sonny’s Weapon Has a Name
Brick answers to Sonny and almost no one else, which is exactly why this plan is dangerous. Could it blow up in Sonny’s face? My gut says sending a fixer to torch a Cassadine romance rarely ends the way the boss wants. Meanwhile Valentin has his own war brewing, since Lulu just rejected his offer to split custody of their daughter down the middle. If I know these writers, Carly Spencer is about to be caught between a meddling ex and a Cassadine with enemies of his own.

Sonny Should Fix His Own Love Life First
Here is where we land. Sonny calling himself the protector of this family would be easier to swallow if he were not chasing a fresh romance of his own the same week. He does not get to rebuild his empire, kiss Justine in public, and then decide who Carly is allowed to love. That is not protection. That is control.
Still, we get the pull. Carly and Sonny have burned and rebuilt each other for decades, and part of him will always think he knows best. Our money says Carly holds the line and Valentin sticks around long enough to make Sonny miserable. Tell us if we called it right over on our Facebook page.
