GENERAL HOSPITAL STAR STEVE BURTON JUST ANNOUNCED HE IS TAKING A SHORT BREAK TO SPEND TIME WITH HIS NEW WIFE

TL;DR: Steve Burton just announced on Instagram that he is taking a short break from General Hospital to spend time with his new wife. Congratulations to Steve! But also — Jason Morgan is currently in the middle of the Britt Westbourne situation, the WSB conspiracy, and whatever Faison’s final project is. How does General Hospital write him out of THIS?

Jason Morgan Is in the Middle of Everything

Steve Burton just announced he is taking a short break from General Hospital to spend time with his new wife and family. He confirmed on Instagram that he will be back this summer.

Congratulations to Steve on his marriage! We love that for him.

BUT. Let us talk about timing.

Jason Morgan is currently knee-deep in the Wyndemere situation. He promised Britt Westbourne he would help her escape Ross Cullum’s control. He is suspicious of the WSB. He just told Felicia Jones that they should not tell Jack Brennan anything about Anna Devane because the agency preyed on her weakness. He is investigating Faison’s final project.

And now Steve Burton is stepping away for a few months.

How does General Hospital write Jason out of the biggest conspiracy storyline on the canvas right now?

How do you think GH writes Jason out? Does he go on a mission? Does something happen to him? Write to amber@soapoperamagazine.com with your theories! You may even see yours on our site next!

Britt Westbourne Is Going to Be Alone

Here is what has us nervous. Jason was Britt’s only lifeline. He promised to help her replicate the medication Cullum is using to control her. He was the one person trying to get her out of Wyndemere.

If Jason disappears for a few months, Britt is on her own. Cullum still controls her meds. She is still being forced to complete Faison’s project. And the one person who was actively trying to save her is gone.

This could get very bad for Britt very fast.

The WSB Conspiracy Just Lost Its Best Investigator

Jason does not trust the WSB. He does not trust Cullum. He does not believe the official story about Anna. He was positioned to be the one who blows this whole conspiracy wide open.

And now he is stepping away.

Does Jason go on a mission that takes him off canvas? Does something happen that sidelines him? Does he get too close to the truth and someone makes him disappear?

We do not know how General Hospital plans to write around Steve Burton’s absence, but the timing is… interesting.

See You This Summer, Jason Morgan

Steve Burton confirmed he will be back this summer, so this is not a permanent goodbye. Jason Morgan will return to Port Charles.

But between now and then? Britt is vulnerable. The WSB is up to something. Faison’s project is still happening. And the man who was investigating all of it is about to be gone.

Buckle up, Port Charles.
