Why This Time Could Be Different
Now we speculate, and here is where it gets juicy. Brooke has a long, documented habit of putting the man in front of her kids. Time and again the choice has come down to Ridge Forrester or her children, and time and again Ridge has won. So everyone, Ridge included, will expect her fury at Hope to fall in line behind her husband’s contempt for anyone who would design for the enemy.
But what if Brooke surprises all of them? Picture Hope sitting her mother down and laying it bare. She is tired of being the mascot, shoved to the back, delayed and dismissed while Steffy runs the floor and the golden boys get the couture. Logan was her shot at the spotlight she has been begging for. Brooke has felt that exact sting herself lately, lost and small at a company that treats her like decoration. If any version of Brooke was ever going to look at her daughter and say, “I understand,” it is this one. And the instant she does, she is standing on the opposite side of the line from Ridge.
The History That Should Terrify Them Both
This is not the first time a Hope-shaped wedge has nearly ended Brooke Logan and Ridge for good. When Hope and Carter staged their corporate coup, the marriage came within a breath of collapse, because Ridge could not forgive the people who tried to seize his company and Brooke could not abandon her daughter. A Brooke who finally stands by Hope is a Brooke who finally stops apologizing for being a mother first. It would be the most interesting version of her in years. It would also be the one most likely to cost her Ridge. The Forrester-Logan war was always going to claim a marriage. We are betting it claims this one.
