The turning point came when Finn (Tanner Novlan) confirmed through a paternity test on February 3, 2025, that he is Luna Nozawa’s (Lisa Yamada) biological father. That makes Luna Sheila’s granddaughter through Finn. When Sheila broke the news to Deacon on March 28, 2025, he was furious. He called Luna dangerous and issued Sheila an ultimatum about Luna’s impact on their lives.

That reaction? Understandable. But the pivot that followed it? That’s the part that doesn’t track.

Deacon didn’t slowly process this news and grow apart from Sheila over months. He went from devoted partner to terrified cheater practically overnight. And the Taylor affair materialized out of thin air. By January 12, 2026, Deacon was telling Taylor he wanted to continue their “therapeutic” relationship even though Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) already knew about it. By February 2, he was actively trying to break up with Sheila. By February 6, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) caught Taylor in Deacon’s arms and ordered them to stop.

Sheila Is the Sympathetic One and Nobody Expected That

While Deacon Sharpe sneaks around, Sheila is doing everything she’s supposed to do. She’s working to bond with Hope and Deacon’s recently introduced son Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone). She’s emphasizing her commitment to her marriage. She genuinely believes her husband is with her.

Kimberlin Brown is acting her heart out in these scenes, and it’s making Sheila the most sympathetic character on the entire show. That’s not a sentence anyone expected to write about a woman who shot Steffy and Finn in an alley. But Brown’s charisma and vulnerability in this material make it impossible not to feel for Sheila, especially when the one person she trusted completely is the one doing the betraying.

The “He Cares What His Kids Think” Argument Falls Apart

The show keeps framing Deacon’s pullaway as being about his children’s opinions. But that argument crumbles instantly. Deacon already knew years ago that Hope disapproved of Sheila and married her anyway. Deke only showed up on the canvas a few months ago. Deacon Sharpe has never once made a major life decision based on family approval. Not once. So why now?

Because the writers needed him with Taylor. That’s the real answer.

What’s Next for Deacon, Sheila, and Taylor?

Could this mean Sheila catches on before anyone tells her? She’s already sensing something is off, and this is a woman who has outsmarted police departments and faked her own death across two soaps. Don’t be surprised if she starts quietly testing both Deacon and Taylor before the big blowup arrives.

Given Steffy and Ridge’s history of coordinating moves against Sheila, there’s a real chance they try a controlled exposure to break the news in a safe setting. And Hope and Deke may end up being the deciding factor. If they threaten to cut Deacon Sharpe off, he caves. If they show unexpected empathy for Sheila, his guilt tears him apart.

Either way, Sheila finding out is not a question of if. It’s a question of when, where, and how badly Deacon pays for it.
