She asked Eric Forrester to admit how proud he’d once been to work alongside her.
He didn’t say a word. Not a nod, not a denial, nothing. The silence in that room did more damage than anything Brooke had already said, and Katie felt every second of it.

Here’s the part everyone conveniently skipped over: working with Katie Logan wasn’t some scheme she cooked up behind Eric Forrester’s back. He was there for it. He knew exactly what that partnership meant and exactly how much good it did, and he still couldn’t bring himself to say so out loud when it actually mattered.
One sentence. That’s all it would have taken. Instead, he let his wife and his daughter-in-law build a case against a woman he knows isn’t guilty of what they’re accusing her of.
Then He Walked Out
When the moment came to defend her, Eric Forrester asked Donna to lead him out of the room instead. Not toward Katie. Away from her, like the whole conversation had simply become inconvenient.
He didn’t argue with Brooke’s “no longer family” verdict. He didn’t correct Donna. He let two women do the dirty work while he made his exit, hands clean, mouth shut.
Nobody Even Expected Him to Speak Up
That’s the saddest part of all this. Nobody in that room seemed surprised. Not Donna, not Brooke, not even Katie herself, really, once his silence stretched past the first few seconds.
This family has trained itself to expect nothing from him when it actually counts. He gets to keep his reputation as the fair, wise Forrester patriarch precisely because nobody bothers holding him to it anymore.
Silence Is Its Own Verdict
Eric Forrester loves playing the wise patriarch who’s above the pettiness of his own family, right up until standing up for someone actually costs him something. Today it would have cost him a fight with his own wife, so he picked the easier villain and let her take the blame alone. That’s not wisdom. That’s cowardice wearing a cardigan.
