Katie Logan Found A Loophole In Her Own Promise

Katie Logan swore she was done raiding Forrester. That promise, squeezed out of her by Brooke Logan after Katie already had Will Spencer on her payroll, covered Forresters, full stop. It never said a word about sending someone else in to do the stealing. Katie wants Zende Forrester Dominguez at Logan, and the easiest way through Forrester’s front door is the girl who already works behind it: Melissa Dylan.

Melissa Dylan is starving for the one thing Katie refuses to serve, a seat at the family table. She told her mother, Darcy Dylan, that Katie’s blessing would mean the world, then walked up to Logan’s door in time to hear Katie shred her. Not “Spencer quality.” A rebound. A woman with the same hunger as Brooke. Katie even hoped her son was using protection so “that woman” couldn’t trap him. Will defended his girlfriend to the hilt, and Katie forbade the whole romance anyway.

The Offer Only A Snob Could Dream Up

Katie’s pitch writes itself: bring Zende to Logan, and maybe, maybe, she’ll stop treating Will’s girlfriend like something stuck to her shoe. Katie already had Hope Logan reach out to him and got radio silence, so why not send a friendly face who sees him every day?

Zende makes this almost too easy. He’s sulking at Forrester, still reeling after Hope left for Logan and took his dream job down with her. He’s gone from lead designer to taking notes from RJ Forrester, and he’s openly griping about being stuck in second position again. One sympathetic ear and a whisper about how much Logan appreciates talent, and he could be packing his sketchbooks in a heartbeat.

And the cherry on top? Katie still wants Electra Forrester as her daughter-in-law. She’s cheering for a Forrester to win back her son while using the other girl to rob the Forresters blind.

Spies Don’t Get Severance

Here’s where Dylan gets burned. She owes her Forrester job to people who went to bat for her when she had nothing, and she’s working as Daphne Rose‘s assistant. Getting caught recruiting for the enemy isn’t a slap on the wrist in that building. It’s a pink slip and a very long walk to the parking lot.

Worse, Katie isn’t the type to pay up. Deliver Zende, and there’ll be a new test. Pass that one, and she’ll find another flaw, another excuse, another reason Melissa Dylan still isn’t good enough. Katie has made a hobby of keeping her heel on this girl’s neck, and a fired, humiliated Dylan is exactly where she wants her.

Every Soap Daddy Is Somebody

Then there’s the loose thread nobody’s tugging. Dylan’s father walked out when she was a little girl. Darcy raised her alone on loans and maxed-out credit cards, and Dylan once slept in her car rather than let her mother worry. It’s a sob story Katie keeps holding against her.

But in this town, a missing father is never a nobody. Darcy spent years reading about the Spencers from the outside. What if Dylan was born closer to that world than anyone realizes? Will already reminded his mother that she didn’t start out rich either. Imagine how that “not Spencer quality” speech sounds if Dylan’s daddy turns out to come with a fortune and a famous last name.
