On paper it sounds like a nightmare. Sheila Carter and Li Finnegan have tried to kill each other, more than once. Sheila once thought she’d killed Li altogether, watching her car go into the marina. Li, for her part, has doused Sheila in a bowl of spaghetti and helped tie her to a bed. These two do not share a Christmas card list. And yet, put those two women under one roof nursing Finn’s chaos-filled life together, and you have the kind of odd-couple sitcom energy that keeps daytime fans hooked. Finn’s two mothers, forced into proximity, bickering over who left the milk out. It writes itself.

A History of Faking Death Together
But there’s a darker version of this too, and it’s rooted in something these two have actually done before. In 2025, Sheila became complicit in a scheme with Li to hide the fact that their granddaughter Luna Nozawa hadn’t really died. Luna was shot, presumed gone, and quietly recovering under Li’s care the entire time while everyone else grieved. Sheila kept that secret. Sheila has proven she’ll lie about a death in this family before, and Li was right there with her when she did it.
So when Li resurfaces next week, the question isn’t only whether she’s crashing at Sheila’s place out of convenience. It’s whether these two are back in business. Luna’s actress was recently spotted on set for the show’s anniversary festivities, with no return confirmed, which is exactly the kind of detail that gets speculation like this started. If Sheila Carter and Li are keeping house together again, it might not be roommate chemistry driving it. It might be a body they’re both still protecting.
Either way, Sheila under the same roof as the woman who once tried to drown her is must-see television, whether it’s played for laughs or for a full-blown resurrection reveal.
