THE DEVILS ARE TEAMING UP, AND NO ONE IS SAFE

When it comes to dangerous mothers on The Bold and the Beautiful, Sheila Carter has held the crown unchallenged for decades. But now, she’s found a kindred spirit in Poppy Nozawa – and this budding friendship should have everyone running for cover. During a chance meeting at Il Giardino, these two desperate mothers connected over the pain of being separated from their children, and we watched in horror as Sheila worked her manipulative magic on the vulnerable Poppy.

“We are not so different,” Sheila told Poppy with that fake sincerity we’ve come to recognize as her predatory gaze. “Both of our kids are being kept from us.” Um, yeah – because one is a psychotic killer and the other tried to murder her stepmother! But sure, Sheila, you’re just misunderstood mothers. Good grief.

SHEILA’S EYES ARE STILL ON THE PRIZE: HAYES

Let’s not forget that Sheila’s ultimate goal hasn’t changed one bit: access to her son Finn and especially her grandson Hayes. She practically salivated while telling Poppy how much she missed her son and how she would “give anything to have a relationship with her grandchild.” The woman who shot her own son is now playing the victim card – classic Sheila!

“I missed out on all Finn’s firsts but think I could have that with Hayes,” she told Poppy, who seemed to be falling for this act hook, line, and sinker. Has Poppy been living under a rock? Everyone in Los Angeles knows better than to trust Sheila when she starts talking about how much she loves her family. That’s usually when the gun comes out!

POPPY’S DESPERATION MAKES HER THE PERFECT TARGET

What makes this alliance particularly disturbing is Poppy’s vulnerability right now. She confessed to Sheila that she couldn’t even find Luna during her last prison visit because apparently, her daughter was transferred without notice. Of course, we know that Luna is actually lounging at Bill Spencer’s mansion under “house arrest,” but Poppy is completely in the dark.

“This is not the life that I thought I would have,” Poppy admitted to Sheila. I mean, did she think having her daughter try to murder people would lead to a happy ending? But her disappointment and confusion make her the perfect clay for Sheila to mold into an accomplice. Two mothers fighting to reconnect with their children could rationalize all sorts of terrible actions.

FINN’S WORLD IS ALREADY CRUMBLING

Meanwhile, poor Finn is already dealing with the nuclear fallout of revealing to Steffy that he’s Luna’s biological father. The timing couldn’t be worse for a SheilaPoppy tag team to enter the picture. At the cliff house, Steffy was practically collapsing from shock, repeating “You’re Luna’s father. You. Finn. You,” as if saying it might somehow make it less true.

The raw emotion in Steffy’s question – “How much more of this am I supposed to take?” – shows just how fragile their marriage has become. First, she had to deal with her husband’s psychotic mother Sheila, and now she discovers he’s the father of the “demented” woman who tried to kill her. Talk about the worst family tree in soap opera history!

LUNA’S “MANSION ARREST” ADDS ANOTHER LAYER OF DANGER

While Sheila and Poppy are forming their unholy alliance, Luna herself is enjoying her cushy “mansion arrest” at Bill’s place. She’s even flirting with the mysterious Remy (who she knows as “Dario“), the air conditioning repairman who clearly has some kind of history with her. Their disturbing banter included jokes about her having to “kill him” if he revealed her location. Charming!

Luna’s situation raises so many questions. Why is Bill keeping her at his mansion instead of allowing her to face justice in prison? What is Remy’s true identity and what game is he playing? And what will happen when Poppy discovers her daughter is being kept from her not by the prison system, but by Bill Spencer?

RIDGE AND TAYLOR ARE CLUELESS ABOUT THE STORM COMING

In the most painful dramatic irony, Ridge and Taylor are blissfully oblivious to the chaos about to engulf their daughter’s life. At Eric’s house, they were literally toasting to what a “fairy tale” life Steffy and Finn have, with Taylor declaring there’s “no obstacle they can’t overcome.”

Oh, if they only knew! Their daughter’s husband just revealed he fathered a child with a woman who tried to kill Steffy, and now that woman’s mother is bonding with Sheila Carter – arguably the most dangerous woman in Los Angeles. I’d say that qualifies as an obstacle, wouldn’t you?

THIS ALLIANCE COULD BE THE FINAL BLOW TO STEFFY AND FINN

With Sheila and Poppy finding common ground as “wronged mothers,” Finn and Steffy’s marriage faces its greatest threat yet. Sheila has always been a one-woman wrecking ball, but with Poppy as an ally – someone with direct ties to Luna and by extension to Finn – she might finally have the perfect weapon to infiltrate their family.

Will Sheila use Poppy to gain access to Hayes? Will they team up to break Luna out of “mansion arrest”? And when the protective mama bear Taylor finds out about all of this, will she revert to her gun-toting ways to protect her daughter from this nightmare?

One thing’s for sure – with Sheila Carter finding a new partner in crime, nobody in Los Angeles is safe. Especially not Steffy and Finn.
