RIDGE ALREADY THANKED CARTER FOR TAKING CARE OF STEFFY FORRESTER, WITH NO IDEA WHAT THAT ACTUALLY MEANS

Steffy Forrester and Carter Walton are drowning in guilt after their Monaco-night mistake, and everyone around them, from Ridge to Daphne, is circling closer without a clue what actually happened. The Bold and the Beautifulhas built itself a full house of witnesses to a secret that cannot possibly last.

Finn Won’t Stop Apologizing (and Steffy Can’t Get a Word In)

At the cliff house, Steffy Forrester is folded into her husband’s arms while he begs forgiveness for Monaco, and the poor woman looks like she’s about to combust from the inside out. Finn keeps promising secrets destroy marriages and they can never have another, which is rich, considering the one currently eating Steffy alive is sitting three feet away wearing his wedding ring. She huffs, she flinches, she thinks about Carter telling her to bury what happened between them. Every apology out of Finn’s mouth lands like a hot coal on bare skin. Steffy tries to open her mouth and tell him the truth.

Finn, bless his oblivious heart, waves her off: he doesn’t need to know, and he’s got a shift to work anyway. He’ll be home for family dinner, and then they can move forward like nothing happened. Nothing happened. Sure. Steffy Forrester is out here rehearsing a confession nobody in that house is prepared to hear, and the man she owes it to told her to save it for later.

Carter Walton Is Unraveling by the Minute

At Forrester, Ridge corners Carter to talk about his daughter’s Monaco meltdown, feeling terrible that Steffy flew home from that airport with no one there to hold her hand. He has no idea whose hand actually caught her once she landed. Carter stares at the couch, yes, THAT couch, and relives the night he slept with the daughter of the man currently patting him on the back for being such a stand-up guy. Ridge takes off convinced everything’s fine. It is extremely not fine.

Sheila drops by the office long enough to ask Carter if Steffy has confessed yet, which tells you everything about how quietly this secret is actually being kept. Carter’s relief doesn’t last. Seconds later he and Steffy are whisper-fighting about who deserves to survive this, Carter insisting what they did is worse than anything Finn ever pulled and that confessing torches both marriages at once. Steffy isn’t buying his math, and Carter ends up holding the door shut with his bare hands.

Everyone’s Worried About the Wrong Crisis

Across town in the showroom, Brooke and Taylor are having a full-blown worry session about Steffy Forrester’s mental state, both convinced Sheila is the villain of this story. They aren’t wrong about Sheila being a nightmare, and Brooke vows to do whatever it takes to help everyone through the pain. They are, however, spectacularly wrong about which nightmare is actually keeping Steffy up at night.

Then Daphne wanders in gushing about how devoted and faithful her husband has been through this whole ordeal, cheerfully unaware that “devoted husband” spent last night confessing his affair guilt to the woman he had it with. Meanwhile, Li is grilling Finn in his office about Monaco, connecting the dots on how Sheila found his flight in the first place. Finn’s biggest worry is still his birth mother’s meddling. He genuinely has no idea the bigger threat to his marriage is trading guilty looks with his father-in-law’s best friend down the hall.

This Secret Has Nowhere Left to Hide

Here’s the thing about a secret this size: it doesn’t survive a full house. Ridge already thanked Carter for “taking care of” his daughter with zero idea what that phrase actually covers, and one more accidental door-opening like Friday’s almost-catch is all it takes. Every person circling Steffy Forrester and Carter right now, Finn, Ridge, Brooke, Taylor, Daphne, Li, is standing close enough to hear the truth if either of them so much as flinches wrong. The Bold and the Beautiful has built an entire cast of witnesses who think they already know the crisis. They don’t, and that gap is exactly where this blows up.

Sound off in the comments: should Steffy come clean to Finn, or is Carter right that some secrets are safer buried?

When Everyone’s Watching, Nothing Stays Buried

Steffy Forrester and Carter Walton keep telling themselves this secret is containable, but Ridge, Taylor, Brooke, Daphne, and Finn are all standing close enough to catch it the second either of them slips. One clumsy door-opening, one loaded look, and this isn’t a secret anymore, it’s a scandal with a live studio audience.

Tell us on our Facebook page: does Steffy finally break and tell Finn everything, or does Carter talk her into carrying this secret all the way to their graves?
