Steffy benched Hope For The Future indefinitely, citing Couture as the priority. She did this without consulting her co-CEO. When Hope asked for a date, Steffy called her melodramatic. When Hope pointed out the line was being constantly undermined, Steffy reminded her she was lucky to still have a job. When Hope said she was not feeling welcome, Steffy ordered her to be a team player.

Then the receipts got loud. Steffy went into her father’s office and called Hope “nothing without Forrester.” She told Ridge she was sick of Hope’s “me me me” attitude. She said Hope did not even know how to run a company. This is the same Hope who built a successful clothing line from nothing, runs her family’s namesake brand, and is technically Steffy’s equal in title, who Steffy keeps treating like an intern.

And then the laugh. The actual laugh. In front of Ridge. After Hope said she would walk if her contributions were not valued. Steffy thought it was funny. Hope did not. The room went cold.

What Steffy Forgot About the Logan in the Room

Here is the thing Steffy Forrester apparently forgot in the middle of her victory laugh. Hope Logan is a Spencer too. Her husband Liam Spencer is sitting at Logan with Katie Logan, who runs the company that just delivered sales numbers so good they marveled at them, and they have already opened the door for Hope to come work with them. They want her.

The only thing keeping Hope at Forrester right now is Brooke Logan‘s relationship with Katie, which is barely held together by spit and family memory. Brooke just told Katie she does not want them to be at odds anymore. Brooke is softening. The last barrier to Hope walking out is dissolving and Steffy has no idea.

She thought Hope was bluffing. She thought the threat to walk was a melodrama Hope would never actually execute because Hope is “nothing without Forrester.” She is about to find out Hope Logan with the Spencer machine behind her is a direct competitive threat.

The Verdict

Steffy Forrester benched her own co-CEO’s clothing line, called her melodramatic for objecting, lectured her about loyalty, told her own father his stepdaughter was “nothing without Forrester,” and then laughed in Hope Logan’s face.

Hope is going to leave. She is going to walk out of Forrester. She is going to land at Logan or Spencer or whatever the Bill and Katie operation eventually becomes. She is going to take her ideas with her along with the goodwill of every fan who watched Steffy laugh at her last week and decided enough was enough.

The Forrester Creations conference room is going to get very quiet very fast when the woman she dismissed becomes the woman launching the line that takes their next quarter.
