Nick Newman is supposed to be laying low. Noah Newman wants answers. And Christine Blair needs Sharon Newman’s help with Mariah Copeland. Genoa City is about to have a very busy week.

Spider Is Back. Nobody Is Happy About It.

Adam Newman checked into a Las Vegas hotel under the name Adam Wilson and is telling himself this is going to be clean and controlled. Get in. Find Riza Thomson. Get the information they need on Matt Clark. Get out. Nick Newmanlays low. Nobody gets hurt.

Riza Thomson will answer with a gun in Adam’s face.

Riza is not a woman who does warm welcomes and Adam knows this better than anyone. She is his former handler from his Spider days. She runs the underbelly of the Las Vegas poker scene with the calm authority of someone who has been pointing guns at people for a very long time and has never once missed. Adam will call her using the one name she will recognize and she will show up armed and ready and entirely unsurprised that he had the nerve to reach out after all these years.

“It’s not exactly the warm welcome I was expecting,” Adam will say as she holds the gun on him. Which is the most Adam Newman response to being held at gunpoint that will ever be delivered on this show.

Nick Newman Is Supposed to Be Laying Low

While Adam walks into Riza’s world next week, Nick Newman will be in the casino doing what Adam told him to do. Laying low. Staying out of sight. Not making a move until Adam has the information they need.

This is the plan. Nick agreed to the plan. Nick will last approximately five minutes before his hot-headed tendencies take over and Adam knows it.

Back in Genoa City, Noah Newman will be on the phone with Nick getting updates. When Nick tells him they have planted the seeds with Riza, Noah will ask what that means. That is a completely reasonable question with a very complicated answer and nobody in Las Vegas will have time to give it to him.

The Stakes Are Higher Than Anyone Realizes

This Vegas trip is not just a simple information grab and next week will make that very clear.

Riza Thomson is a drug operator. Matt Clark has been one of her runners. Nick Newman has a pill problem that feeds directly from the world Riza and Matt operate in. Adam is walking into a meeting with his former handler to extract information on a man who has been quietly destroying his brother. And Nick is sitting in a casino that is exactly the kind of environment that has been fueling his addiction.

The Newman brothers came to Las Vegas to find Matt Clark. Las Vegas has a way of finding things in people they thought they had buried. Next week is going to test both of them in ways neither of them is prepared for.

Meanwhile Back in Genoa City

Not every story next week involves guns and Vegas crime bosses. Christine Blair will sit down with Sharon Newmanfor a private meeting and tell her there is a reason she wanted to see her alone. She needs Sharon’s help with Mariah Copeland. Whatever Christine needs from Sharon regarding Mariah, it is clearly not something she wants discussed in a crowd. Private meetings in Genoa City rarely stay private. We will be watching very closely.
