Then there is the part about the man in Los Angeles that Claire cannot find, the body that both Holden and Audra know more about than either of them is saying, and the truth that is sitting right next to Claire every time she thinks she is getting closer to answers. Let Us Talk About What Holden Novak Actually Said

Holden Novak called out Audra Charles for having eyes for a Newman. Specifically for vibing with Noah Newman, who is currently in a relationship with Sienna Bacall and therefore not exactly available. Holden’s position was that Audra should be helping him keep Kyle Abbott away from Claire Newman instead of getting distracted by a Newman of her own.

Holden is in love with Claire Newman. Claire Newman is a Newman. Holden is so consumed by his feelings for Claire that he is actively scheming to use Audra as a tool to eliminate his competition. He went to Los Angeles with Claire twice. The first trip was for fun, and they ended up in bed together. The second trip happened because Holden’s boss, Cane Ashby, hired him to find Lily and their children, who Cane believed had been kidnapped. Holden asked Claire to come along since they had enjoyed the first trip. Claire agreed, but she had her own agenda entirely. She wanted answers about Holden and Audra’s shared past that Holden keeps refusing to provide.

Holden Novak called Audra Charles out for having eyes for a Newman while being completely, thoroughly, and unapologetically consumed by a Newman himself.

The Thing About Audra Charles

Let us be clear about who Audra Charles is in this situation.

Audra has history with Holden that goes back to Los Angeles. She frequented the club where Holden worked. There was a man who had a problem with Audra over money. That man had beef. That beef escalated. Holden got involved, and the man ended up dead. Both Holden and Audra likely know more about where that situation ended up than either of them has said out loud to anyone.

That is not a friendship. That is a shared secret with a body attached to it, and it has been following both of them from Los Angeles to Genoa City without either one saying a word about it.

Holden calling Audra out for anything while that secret exists between them is one of the most audacious moves in recent Genoa City history. Audra Charles slapped Claire Newman across the face. She is not a woman who responds well to being called out by someone who owes her significantly more than a lecture about her romantic choices.

Holden Novak picked the wrong woman to lecture and the wrong moment to do it.

Claire Newman Is Looking for a Man She Will Never Find

Here is the part that makes this entire situation genuinely devastating.

Claire went to Los Angeles the second time because she wanted answers. She knows there is a man connected to Holden and Audra’s past. She has been trying to track him down. She has not been able to find him. She has supposedly given up looking.

She cannot find him because he is dead. The two people who know the most about what happened to him are Holden Novak, the man she went to LA with twice, and Audra Charles, the woman she has been rivals with since arriving in Genoa City. Claire has been sleeping next to part of the answer and crossing swords with the other part, and neither one of them has said a single word about what they know.

Claire does not like secrets. She made that clear on the second LA trip when Holden refused to come clean. She does not yet know that the secret Holden is keeping is significantly bigger than anything she has been looking for.

That is not a romantic complication. That is a ticking clock.

The Newman Scoreboard Nobody Asked For

Since Holden Novak wants to talk about who is chasing Newmans, let us do the full accounting.

Holden is chasing Claire Newman. Audra is vibing with Noah Newman. Sienna is currently with Noah Newman and does not know about the Audra situation. Kyle Abbott, the man Holden wants Audra to neutralize, has history with Audra and is currently getting along with Claire.

Everyone in this story is either pursuing a Newman, sleeping next to a Newman, or being used as a pawn to control access to a Newman. Holden Novak, standing in the middle of all of that and pointing at Audra Charles as the one with the Newman problem, is the kind of self-awareness failure that Genoa City specializes in and never gets tired of producing.

Audra Charles did not start this. She is simply the only one in the room honest enough to be called out for it. Holden Novak has a Newman situation, a body situation, and a truth-telling situation, and none of them are going to stay quiet forever.

Genoa City always finds out. It is only a matter of when.
