Sally Spectra arrived at Billy’s place reminding herself this was a civil goodbye between two adults. She admired his snacks. She accepted a drink. And then Billy Abbott told her he wanted a second chance and was determined to do whatever it took to win her back, and the goodbye dinner became something else entirely.

This is exactly what Audra Charles warned her about. Audra told her that sharing a stick of gum with him would be a mistake because she cannot resist him. Sally insisted Audra was wrong. Sally is currently kissing Billy Abbott with his handwriting on her skin, so we will let that sit.

The Story About Her Father Changes Everything

Here is where The Young and the Restless does something genuinely interesting. Sally did not just push Billy away because she is stubborn or scared of commitment. She told him about her father. A dreamer who burned through money and friendships chasing luck, who failed over and over, who got drunk and devastated and broke her heart every single time. She knows Billy is not her father. She said that out loud. But they are similar enough that her body remembers what it felt like to love someone like that and watch everything collapse.

Billy heard every word of it and then used it. He pointed out that her father had no one who believed in him. Sally accused him of blaming her for her father’s failures. He said that was not what he meant. Whether that is genuine understanding or the most sophisticated manipulation Billy Abbott has ever attempted is a question The Young and the Restless is leaving deliberately unanswered, and we respect it enormously.

He Wrote It on Her Hand

Billy Abbott reminded Sally of the moment she wrote that she loved him on his hand. He told her it had never faded for him. And then he took her hand and wrote it back. Chancellor is one part of his destiny, he said. She is the other part. Can she believe in them?

They kissed.

We are not immune to this. We have never been immune to this. Audra is going to have a lot of feelings when she finds out.

Victoria and Nikki Are Watching Nick Disappear

While Billy and Sally are kissing at the beach house, Victoria Newman and Nikki Newman are at the ranch having a much quieter and much more frightening conversation. Victoria said out loud that sometimes she looks into Nick Newman’s eyes and he is not there looking back. Nikki admitted she has seen it too. They both know he is burning through his painkillers. They both know he is in no shape to face Matt Clark. And they both know he feels responsible for resolving this, which means he is going to try anyway.

Nikki is starting to wonder if it is time for the family to go their own directions and build things outside the Newman shadow. Victoria is not ready to hear that. She is determined to fight for everything that belongs to them and she is not backing down. These two women are the most clear-eyed people in Genoa City right now and nobody is listening to either of them.

Claire, Kyle, Holden and Audra Are All Done Playing Nice

Claire Newman told Kyle Abbott he was right about Holden all along. She can sense he has been lying to her and evading her questions, and whatever he is hiding must be awful because that is the only explanation for how hard he has been working to keep it from her. Holden is finished as an option. Kyle is trying not to look too pleased about it.

Meanwhile, Holden found Audra Charles at Crimson Lights and told her Claire is done with both of them. Audra said Claire never deserved him and then told him to find his dimples somewhere else before he ends up in jail. Holden smiled. We clocked that.
