Billy Abbott has a great thing going with Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless. So why on earth is he risking it all by repeatedly lying to her face?

BILLY’S SECRET ALLIANCE THREATENS EVERYTHING

While claiming his new venture, Abbott Communications, isn’t focused on bringing down Victor Newman, Billy has been doing exactly that behind Sally’s back. Not once, but twice now, he’s snuck away from her to take calls from mysterious billionaire Aristotle Dumas – a man who apparently has his own beef with the Newman patriarch.

The deception runs deep. When confronted, Billy has been spinning elaborate tales to Sally that this reclusive billionaire randomly called out of the blue to praise him. Meanwhile, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Billy and Dumas are plotting against Victor – the very thing he promised Sally he wouldn’t do with his new business.

FANS ARE CALLING OUT BILLY’S STUNNING HYPOCRISY

Viewers across social media and message boards are not holding back their frustration with Billy’s behavior.

“We saw Billy talking to a secret caller before this, now obviously was Dumas or his associate, and he is baking this cake to Sally that this recluse just calls him out of the blue to praise him and agree with all the Billy victim points he leans on all the time. AS IF! But here he is laying his narrative all over the ‘No Secrets’ lady currently in his life, and this guy attacks Adam all the time over deceit,” wrote one valued contributor on the Soap Central boards.

Another fan didn’t mince words: “Billy lying about Dumas because he is helping him go after Victor, which is what Billy told Sally he wasn’t going to do with his new business venture, so it goes to the core of their relationship foundation, which makes this even more of a scumbag move.”

THE PATTERN IS UNMISTAKABLE

Even longtime Billy supporters are struggling to defend him this time.

“I have always loved Billy. But he hasn’t changed. In fact, I feel he has gotten worse,” wrote one disappointed fan. “He talks a good ‘knight in shining armor,’ hopeless romantic talk, but his actions say it all. Every woman finds out the hard way in the end.”

The critique gets even harsher from others: “Billy is an arrogant scumbag. He is lying to this woman who laid bare herself to him. He is holding on to childish anger at his elderly mother. And he is probably going to blow Jack’s investment to kingdom come with all his lies and backdoor dealing. He always comes out smelling like dog poo to me.”

WILL HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF?

This isn’t the first time Billy has let obsession and revenge cloud his judgment. His vendetta against Victor has previously cost him relationships, his position at Chancellor Industries, and even his self-respect. Yet he seems physically incapable of learning from these mistakes.

The foundation of Billy and Sally’s relationship was supposed to be honesty after both were betrayed by previous partners. Now, Billy’s compulsive need to take down Victor is putting everything at risk. Does he truly believe Sally won’t eventually discover his deception? History suggests she almost certainly will.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR BILLY AND SALLY?

Should Billy come clean to Sally about what he’s doing and who he’s really talking to? More importantly, is he even capable of that level of honesty? For their relationship to have any chance, he needs to stop the lies before they spiral completely out of control.

Women always find out the truth in the end. The question is whether Billy will come clean himself or wait until he’s caught – again. Either way, Sally’s reaction may determine whether this relationship is truly built to last or is just another casualty of Billy Abbott’s seemingly incurable dishonesty.

But before everything falls apart, fans are still eager to learn exactly who this mysterious Aristotle Dumas really is and what history he shares with Victor that makes him such a willing conspirator in Billy’s revenge plot.
