CBS to Air Primetime Special to Celebrate 50th Anniversary of “The Young and the Restless
CBS is set to present a primetime special to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular soap opera, The Young and the Restless. The one-hour special, titled The Young and the Restless 50th Anniversary Celebration, will be hosted by Nischelle Turner from the set of the show on the CBS Television soundstages.
The special, which will air at 8 pm ET/PT on March 27th, will include footage and interviews with cast members from the past 50 years, current interviews with fan-favorite cast members, and never-before-seen moments from the Entertainment Tonight vault. Viewers will also be taken on a behind-the-scenes studio tour, including a look at the massive wardrobe collection.
The celebration will take a deep dive into the iconic storylines, epic romances, biggest feuds and rivalries, famous alumni, and groundbreaking moments in pop culture that have made the show a staple for soap opera fans. The special will also feature special remembrances to two beloved cast members, the late Jeanne Cooper (ex-Katherine Chancellor) and Kristoff St. John (ex-Neil Winters).
The Young and the Restless 50th Anniversary Celebration will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. The soap opera’s milestone on-air celebration will begin on March 22nd, starting with the Wednesday episode.
