Adam Newman and Billy Abbott Cannot Be in the Same Room
At the GCAC, Adam Newman gets off a call with a therapeutic boarding school as Chelsea Lawson joins him. She shoots down the idea before he even finishes explaining, insisting their son does not need his routine upended. Adam clarifies their son reached out first, and the school is willing to hold his spot if they answer by end of day.
Chelsea spirals, worried their son keeps leaving because they are failures. Adam insists he is simply ambitious, and Chelsea wants to hear it from him before deciding.
Right on cue, Billy Abbott walks in, and Adam actually congratulates him on being a rational adult for once. Billy snipes something about Newman Media and keeps moving, which leaves Adam grumbling that the man makes obliviousness look like an art form.
Billy Abbott joins Sally Spectra at a table and cannot stop staring daggers at Adam Newman across the room. She reminds him she is glowing these days and he needs to drop the hunt for a fight. Billy admits Adam cannot actually hurt them, but he doubts either of them wants peace as badly as she does.
He promises to stop taking Adam’s bait, and Sally fills him in on Vibrante’s relaunch and the patent deal Audra is chasing. Billy mentions Jack offered to fund his own startup, but he still doesn’t trust it.
Back at the bar, Adam Newman replays an old memory of Sally furious with him over choosing her instead of their baby, and the resentment clearly has not faded. He tells Chelsea it is not only Sally’s scare rattling him, it is Billy Abbott himself, calling him “a doofus” outright. Chelsea tells him to reel it in, and he agrees that he and Connor are lucky to have her before they kiss and head out.

Nick Newman Gets Good News About Marie Kirkland
At rehab, Michael Baldwin tells Nick Newman he speaks with Marie Kirkland as promised, though he worries Nick tried to take the blame for a man’s death and could get charged himself. Nick defends the choice, and Michael confirms Christine believes it is self-defense.
Marie is questioned and released without charges, which has Nick thanking Michael. Michael presses him on why he would risk his freedom for someone he barely knows, and Nick explains he can see the guilt on her face and feels he needs to slow things down for her.
Michael reminds him recovery comes first, if only for the sake of his kids and grandkids, and asks if Marie plans to come back. He admits she is not forthcoming and needs to make that call herself before shaking Nick’s hand and heading out.
Nick brings it up at group, admitting he beats himself up over wanting to play hero, though thinking about someone besides himself instead of reaching for a pill counts as real progress. Afterward, he tells the therapist he hopes Marie comes back, and she reminds him he cannot fix other people before walking off.
Nikki Newman Takes the Vibrante Job
At Society, Victoria Newman tells Nikki Newman it would be a relief if she runs Vibrante while Victoria focuses on Newman. Nikki admits she is tempted, though the media feud still bothers her, and Victoria promises full control so Nikki can keep Victor in check.
Over at Jabot, Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins grill Kyle Abbott about the Vibrante fight, and he insists crushing the company is the best way to stick it to Victor. Diane wonders if Victoria is turning into her father, and Kyle reveals Nikki is taking the CEO chair instead. “Good for her,” Jack says, irritating his wife.
Nikki and Victoria arrive at Jabot moments later, and Diane accuses them of using the Abbotts to muscle back into cosmetics. Nikki insists she will have full autonomy from both Victor and Victoria, and Diane sniffs that Nikki only ever succeeds at failed ceasefires. Victoria announces the media war is officially off, then bickers with Kyle about Jabot being stuck in the past until he leaves for a meeting, flashing back to his night with Victoria the second the elevator doors close, one more secret tangled into this stretch of Young and the Restless spoilers.

Old Grudges Never Actually Retire in Genoa City
Adam Newman insists his beef with Billy Abbott is about Chancellor and common sense, but the flashback to Sally and their lost baby says otherwise. Billy thinks he can dodge the bait forever, except a man who calls someone a doofus within minutes of seeing him is not exactly winning that fight either.
