DEVON WINTERS ISN’T AS FINE AS HE CLAIMS

TL;DR: Devon Winters torches Cane Ashby in the middle of a café, but the real war is the one he refuses to admit he’s fighting.

Devon Winters Lights the Match

Devon Winters runs into Cane Ashby at the Chancellor Park café, and he does not come to make peace. He announces that Cane’s “clown show” needs to end, and Cane’s dry comeback about the other patrons does nothing to slow him down. Devon plants himself at the table and predicts Cane will torch Chancellor from the inside without any help from anyone else.

Cane warns him that this rampage is going to cost him his relationship with Lily, but that only feeds Devon’s fire. He rattles off his full scorecard: Cane is a con artist, Billy Abbott is self-obsessed, and Holden is a glorified errand boy, and between the three of them, Chancellor is doomed. Devon brings up Katherine’s legacy like a blade, and Cane fires back by asking how Abby Newman and Dominic are actually holding up under his temper. Devon warns him never to go there again, and the two trade jabs about who is carrying more rage before Devon storms off, leaving Cane unbothered and weirdly more determined than ever.

Then He Cracks

Later, at Society, Ashley Abbott and Abby swap notes on Jack’s recovery and agree that nothing about Patty and Martin Laurent ever really wraps up clean. Abby admits her real worry is closer to home. Since everything with Dominic, Devon’s mood swings have gotten sharper, and she does not know how to bring it up without pushing him further away. Ashley offers to step in, and Abby waves her off before disappearing to handle a delivery, conveniently right as Devon walks up.

Ashley tells Devon Winters she is sorry she was not around when the Dominic fallout hit, and that Mariah’s betrayal must have been brutal to sit with. He insists it was a nightmare but claims Dominic is thriving now and deflects hard when she gently asks what Abby told her. Ashley does not push. She simply tells him she wrote the book on pretending everything is fine, and she knows the look because she sees it in the mirror too. She urges him to lean on his wife instead of burying it, and Devon, cornered, admits he does not even know how he would put the feeling into words.

Billy Smells a Secret at Chancellor

Billy returns from a brutal flight to London with Jill, convinced his mother let something slip: that Cane alone should handle the “complexities” inside the company. Sally cannot see the conspiracy Billy is chasing and worries he is using Chancellor to avoid dealing with his own restlessness, but Billy is adamant Katherine’s old habit of burying secretsrubbed off on Jill years ago.

Sally’s Got a Secret of Her Own

Across the café, Sally keeps her own secret. She tells Audra Charles she still has not told Billy that selling Newman Media back to Adam is on the table, and Audra is not about to let her stall much longer.
