Matt Clark Says What He Thinks Are His Goodbyes (He’s Wrong)
At the Shadow Room, Matt Clark tells Noah Newman, Nick Newman, Sharon Newman, and Sienna Wong he’ll finally give them what they want and leave town. Noah’s not interested in absolution, reminding Matt he victimized all of them for years. Matt insists “done is a past tense word” and wonders how he’s supposed to earn forgiveness he’s clearly never going to get. He has no real plan beyond starting over somewhere, doing something decent for once, and being appreciated for it. Nick doesn’t buy the vagueness for a second.
Sharon offers to help him pack. Matt worries about one specific complication: Victor, and whatever “test” he’ll leave unfinished. Nick offers to handle his father. Matt says his goodbyes, walks out, and Noah breathes a sigh of relief that Nick clearly doesn’t share, certain they haven’t seen the last of him.

Victor Newman Refuses to Let Matt Go
That instinct proves right almost immediately. At the ranch, Matt shows up to tell Victor he’s leaving, that no one will ever give him a break, and that whatever information Victor wants on Cane isn’t happening. Victor shuts that down cold: only he decides when their deal ends, and if Matt backs out, prison or worse is waiting for him.
Matt insists he can’t survive staying. Victor calls him a wild card he’s not willing to release. When Nick shows up right after, Victor’s already heard the news and asks his son a chilling question: if Matt’s fate were entirely in his hands, what would he do?
Phyllis Summers Refuses to Say Goodbye
Wall number two comes from somewhere Matt never saw coming. At the GCAC, Phyllis Summers gets a call from him asking to meet. The second he tells her he’s leaving, she flatly refuses to let that happen.
Adam Newman Makes Sally Spectra a Risky Offer
At Society, Adam Newman finds Sally Spectra picking out nursery colors and needles her about Billy’s job status before getting to the real reason he’s there: Victor. Sally admits she couldn’t wage a full corporate war against her own father, so she and Audra tried to negotiate something rather than lose everything outright. Adam’s sure Victor only said he’d “think it over” to get her out of the room.
He offers her an alternative: a secret deal, made entirely behind his father’s back, where he tells Victor he wrestled the company away from her while quietly protecting her interests instead. Sally’s skeptical he’d really go that far against his own father. Adam insists Victor’s already alienated him by pushing him to the sidelines, and he doesn’t want to rebuild what he lost at her expense. When she still hesitates, not wanting to feel indebted to him, he brings up the nursery color she wanted for Ava, and tells her he could never be owed by her. He’ll always be the one who owes her, after everything he put her through. Sally isn’t sure she’s ready for the fallout if Victor ever finds out what Adam’s really doing.
Nikki Newman Confronts Victor Newman’s Double Standard
Back at the ranch, Nikki Newman sits with Victor as he insists he wants to be there for her. She doesn’t want pity, and doubts he’d even be speaking to her right now if she weren’t facing possible blindness, given how furious he’s been about her visiting Jack. She calls him out directly for spying on her. His response: “So what?”
They rehash the entire ordeal, Victor still blaming Jack for what happened to her, Nikki insisting Jack saved her life. She calls her husband a hypocrite outright, pointing out he’s moved Matt onto their property and worked with Patty, while all she did was visit a friend recovering from being stabbed. Victor deflects to her upcoming appointment instead, and when she asks if his offer to attend still stands, he backs out, claiming it’ll be too crowded with the kids there too. Exhausted, Nikki heads to bed, admitting on her way out that despite everything, she’ll always love him.
