Patty Talks It Over With Mr. Kitty and Picks Jack
Tuesday’s Y&R Canadian day ahead hands you the whole mess a full day before the US sees it, and the mess belongs to Patty Williams. She spends her scenes in an alley with Mr. Kitty, asking the cat whether Matt Clark is the last person in Genoa City still on her side or just the newest name on the turncoat list. Stroking the cat, she says they both know what to do with people like that. Then she decides Jack Abbott comes first and Matt can wait.
She cannot leave town, she tells the cat, because so many people still need her care. That line should empty every hospital wing in Wisconsin. She wonders out loud whether Matt is expendable, which is Patty arithmetic for deciding whether a man lives through the week. Instead of walking into his motel room, she sends a text.
The stall is the entire story. Matt built his whole play around Patty being lonely enough to come running, and she is not running anywhere while Jack is lying in a hospital bed. There is a pile of fresh Genoa City chatter in the latest Y&R scoop roundup, and all of it says the same thing. She sets the clock, nobody else does.

Matt Clark and Phyllis Summers Turn on Each Other at the Motel
At the Riverbank Motel, Matt Clark works the phone like the con artist he used to be. He tells Patty he called off the plan Phyllis Summers cooked up, says he wishes he had listened when Patty warned him about her, and asks her to come help him sort out his life. The second he hangs up, Phyllis asks the only question that matters. Are you playing me, Matt?
Patty Williams is not the only one in this story who can smell a setup. Phyllis wants to grab her the moment she walks through that door. Matt says it has to be a real trap with witnesses, done his way, and warns that things turn violent fast if Patty spots Phyllis first. Phyllis hears all of that and lands somewhere ugly: she thinks he is planning to help Patty get away. Given what Phyllis found in his room last week, you cannot call her paranoid.
Does Patty Williams Fall for the Trap on Young and the Restless?
Not on Tuesday she does not. The episode ends with Patty still loose, Matt still waiting, and Phyllis telling him they need to find Patty before Patty finds them. That is the piece the US audience will not have until Tuesday afternoon: the trap does not spring, it stalls, and the stall is Patty’s own idea. Patty Williams is running two plans at once, one for Jack and one for Matt, and she has already ranked them.
Cane Ashby Asks Lily Winters to Move In as Kyle Doubles Down
The rest of Genoa City spends Tuesday being almost sweet. At the Athletic Club, Cane Ashby has already ordered everything Lily Winters likes and watches her save the croutons for last. Then he asks the question he has been circling for months. What are we, exactly? He says he does not deserve her, she tells him to get over it, and then he asks her to move in.
Before the romance they trade notes on the Chancellor mess: whether Billy Abbott is truly backing off, whether Jill knew about the deal Philip made and sat on it so Billy would never get the company, and whether Cane’s own father had a hand in any of it. Lily almost feels sorry for Billy. Almost.
Over at Crimson Lights, Kyle Abbott fills Victoria Newman in on the plan to trap Patty Williams and admits he cannot stop thinking about her. Victoria says she feels the same and regrets nothing. Their hands touch and she pulls away, then they talk shop about her mother taking over Vibrante with Victor on board. Reading between the lines, that company matters to this affair more than either of them knows.
Nikki Newman spends her day demanding answers. She storms Jabot for the truth about Jack’s heart attack, hears from Billy that the collapse was staged bait, congratulates him and Sally Spectra on the engagement, then insists she wants no war over Vibrante, only a small company of her own with Victor Newman far away from it. At the ranch, Victor calls the whole scheme cockamamie and predicts Patty outthinks Jack. Nikki asks him to stay out of it. He shrugs and says he will try, which from Victor means absolutely nothing.

Mr. Kitty Is the Only One in Genoa City Making Sense
